There have been a couple of times I have had trouble printing and the signing service sent the docs in a pdf file.

I started out on Mac, had to buy a PC for my automobile biz, but still have both. I guess I'm bi Smile
I do use the PC for my loan packages though.

I have always used a PC and now a laptop as a back-up on a shared network. All my packages come PDF and sometimes some forms are in word. Basically no problems so far. Always good to have a back-up

Caryn,

I've used the Mac platform for over 23 years now. Swear by it. But we also have PC's just because of this problem. Occasionally I have to use the PC laptop to do the printing. I hate it, but it does allow me to offer a wider base of service. My next Mac is going to be dual platformed. Hubby keeps making me wait. He has his reasons, but for the life of me I never can remember them. I just know it would make my life much easier. But I wait . . .

I've never had to turn down a closing because of viewers like Swiftview that aren't Mac compatible. If it arises, I inform the company that i can only use pdf or word docs and they have always been happy to download them to me. I imagine my luck will run out some time, but this works for me.

Without a doubt Apple is far superior product. We have been bamboozled by microsoft and it's flaws.

And yes I have two computers because my best client uses swiftview and I'm not asking them to put docs into pdf format to please me.

I would just get a cheap used laptop from somewhere.

Forgive me, but I just don't understand and makes no sense to me. If you were a carpenter you would have the necessary tools you need to cut, measure, nail etc etc to build whatever you are building. If you were a mechanic you would have all the necessary tools to work on cars, trucks. Why is this any different? You have to have the right tools to do your job correctly, efficiently and professionally. No brainer to me.

I began on an Apple but I switched to PC from Apple 15 years back when I did the research and found that business is slanted to PC's. Plus Steve Jobs thinks that he knows best about how a computer should be used and there is less of an opportunity for you to tinker with the Apple operating system than PC"s Windows or Linux. To me, anyway, using OS 9 or X was like riding a bicycle with training wheels on a railroad track. You can't travel the back roads.

As far as Apple being superior, well people only think that because the viruses and spyware are written for the computer operating system that is 96% of the market. If Apple had 96% of the market the bad stuff would be written for that and we would be saying the same things about Apple that we are saying about Microsoft now. If you have one of the Apple computers with an Intel chip, a computer geek should be able to load Windows on it so you don't have to buy a new computer. You can run a dual boot system. If you prefer to use OS x, then you can use that and when you need Windows, then you can boot to that. I do know a couple of Apple die hards that have done that ....... But then you would have to buy a copy of Windows at whatever price it is when for 4 or 5 hundred dollars total, you can get an acceptable PC that will work for you ....

Windows of a MAC... Swiftview no problem.

I been using a MAC now for about 6 months. Had too many PC problems and got fed up with Microsoft, so I gave the PC the boot...

I run OS x 99% of the time. I also have Parallels (that's the name of the program) loaded on my computer, which allows Windows XP to run on the MAC.

I have not yet found one package I could not print from either the MAC or WINDOWS ON THE MAC. Including Swiftview, Elynx, etc.

LOVE THE MAC! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT...

Microsoft kiss my @$$...

Re: Windows of a MAC... Swiftview no problem.

Parallels .. I couldn't remember the name. The one us older Apple guys ran was Virtual PC. What I didn't like about the emulators was that it slowed the computer down.

Just remember, when you are running Parallels , it opens up your MAC to the same spyware and viruses that plague Windows. But it should keep it in the Parallels folder should you become infected and should not affect the rest of the computer. Apple or PC, it's the same hardware, chips, processor (Intel. now, except for the code) that PC's are built with. It's the operating system that is different. Personally , I partitioned the hard drive and boot to Windows when I do business and play on the Linux side.
