NEW NOTARY

Hello,

I am a new notary and have taken a course on loan docs, which i have been certified. Can anyone give me helpful advice as to getting assignments?

Go to signing central and call every company on the list.
You have come at a time that notaries are a dime a dozen. Many of us that have been full time for years are working full time jobs and now doing this part time. Also, go to "find a notary" above, type in your zip code and find out how much competition you have.

Sorry.

Also remember that by checking your zip code you are not even getting the true picture because this site ONLY shows the notaries that have signed up with this site. Don't know what the ratio would be of the total notaries wanting to do signings, but I am almost certain, it is not everyone!

aatatusko...what??? You mean there isn't a shortage of

notary signing agents? <blink, blink>

Yep...and don't move to Texas because we have the same "shortage" here. I feel a lot of regret for the ones who are just getting started, writing and asking for assistance.

Three years ago I predicted that Rev Morts would be the only type of loan available to the Texan as the interest rate rose. I was mocked, told "I don't like those." and "Those take too long." and "Oh those are awful...I won't do them."

A few ARMs adjusting, an occasional Heloc, the few and far between RMs...Texas market is dead and the notaries just keep on coming.

It's not just ME or my cohorts being "jealous" or protective...folks, it's the county recorders' offices giving the evidence. Mortgages are very sparse.

Re: Question for Yvonne

Why did you decide to enter this business at the worst possible time?

Re: Question for Yvonne - and to Johnny's question

I add...

What do YOU think you can do to start your business?

What have YOU done to get ideas?

Do YOU have a business plan?

Do YOU know where the business comes from?

Have YOU checked to see how many mortgages your area is recording vs. the amount of signing agents to compete with you?

You have a problem! Here, there are 6 within 20 miles, and 2 (yes, two) within 10 miles. And one of those 6 lies about her distance) NO! I'm not telling you where I live!!

I don't know what company trained you in CA?
Email me:

[e-mail address] and I will try to help you get started.

I don't understand how we can have the lowest number of notaries per capita (CA) in US and also be overrun with notaries?

All the other states have to be overrun with notaries; not CA.

I teach students to pass the Ca Exam and over 50% of the students have no interest in being a Loan/Signer/Notary.

I always ask for a "raise of hands."

They are there because of Escrow/title/ real estate/mail boxe etc/UPS Stores/check cashing/lawyers/ bail bond/setc and I could on and on.

I had 4 signings today and just finished up with the last.

No one ever wants to hear it but it's about doing good notary/loan signing work and marketing.

Shut up Joan

Nobody believed this crap 3 years ago, and we certainly don't believe it now that the market is in the toilet.
