Saw this on AOL this morning. Some of you might have seen this. Anyway, I keep thinking about it as I read todays posts. Something to think about. Hope the link works.

I've "fired" a few
As a small imprinted promotional products distributor, I've had customers who want the moon for sixpence and also don't have any idea what they really want...or at least are not telling you. They've got a champagne taste and a beer pocketbook and will wear you out with pulling their requirements out of them bit by bit, researching and calling suppliers, and then they say "Oh, I was just wondering what it would cost....." or worse, "well my brother's ex-wife's sister's daughter-in-law's oldest son ordered them online for us."

Lessee...who would I fire first? Prime candidates would be those title companies/lenders who include four versions of the same document in the packet. Those are the same lazy butts who, though they of course know who their borrowers are, never fill in the names except on the DOT, leaving it to the borrowers and SA to do so, thus consuming the time of three people when the time of only one person at the TC/lender was required.

Jogged some ideas, Hugh! Fire Countrywide Full Spectrum!
Their faxback requirements are ridiculous. I'd love to be a fly on the wall to see just what happens to all those pages of faxbacks from each loan. I doubt very much there is someone standing by the fax machine to immediately pull off the 30+ pages that are faxed by each notary and immediately run with them to whichever clerk is handling that particular loan. Who wants to bet that the faxes sit on the machine until whoever is nearby pulls them off and tosses them into a tray, where they will sit until some clerk comes by and browses through them looking for the ones you sent. That clerk is probably so overwhelmed with paperwork that she/he won't even get around to looking for your faxbacks until the original loan arrives by Fed-Ex or UPS in due course.

I am lucky. I have never been required to do the fax backs with CW Full Spect. Maybe Title does it when they get them back.

Re: Jogged some ideas, Hugh! Fire Countrywide Full Spectrum!
It's kinda embarrassing, when the Borrowers are signing these docs, and they see in four different places the same 1003, and several TIL's, and so much duplication all through-out.
Then when it comes to RTC, they only include one copy, and each Borrower is signing saying they received two copies each. (Of course no copier available)
Of course the docs arrive at 9 PM when the appt. is for 7PM; so quickly your out the door, race cross town, and then find out the mess you have in front of you.
Whenever I accept anything from them, Always say "NO fax backs", and be sure you ask if it's a single loan or piggy back. Last time I gave a price for a single, and printed out a double- called and questioned it and was told it's only 5 extra pages-
NOT- it was 23 total on the second- what a conniving bunch they are. That's my experience with them- no more- for sure-for sure-for sure!
Gonna give them a Donald T. epitaph!

My standard reply, when I am requested to do faxbacks, is "Great; be happy to do so. My faxback fee is $2 per page." It's astonishing how little they need all those faxbacks when they begin tallying up the cost.
