I think Stuart was joking.. ...And I don't believe there is anything funny about these cartoons nor were they meant to be funny. I think the cartoonists are 1) acknowledging the danger posed by many bridges that are getting too old 2) the many tears shed over this disaster.

How can that be Bush's fault. Good lord...yes I was kidding
HOWEVER, there are some on the "left" who are saying out loud that with Bush spending billions on "Bush's War", we are not able to take care of the domestic things which need to be taken care of. Therefore, it might have happened anyway, but because of Bush (and HIS war), this was inevitable.
No I don't make these things up, just report them. Have a great day and pray for everyone involved (either directly or indirectly) with this bridge disaster and our brave men and women serving our nation around the world.

Not speaking directly to you Stuart but they would have to put the attention on Bush when I blame whomever is in charge of public safety in MN for that accident. They had to see it coming, it is a huge bridge.

I remember reading something several years ago about the safety of the bridges in this country. I don't remember the source, but I believe it was in one of those Sunday magazines in the newspaper. If we are not paying attention to these bridges and other areas of our infrastructure, then we can expect more of thes happenings. Very sad state of affairs. (Please, exucse any typos - I have some eye problems until 9-4-07 surgery. Am on stand=by for earlier, so if anyone wants to pray for me - please feel free to do so. TIA)

Re: yag laser capsulotomy
Well, I will be praying for you. I had lasik surgery friday, could see better than with my contacs on sat and seems better everyday! They said that if I kept my eyes closed as much as poss the 1st 24 hours, the eyes would be 90% healed that quick... It's amazing what they can do now. I'm sure you'll be thrilled with it once it's done. Waiting is the hardest part!
