OT - Opinions from TN SA'a
Hi all, my husband has been offered a job in Nashville. We've been wanting to move back east for awhile now since we both have family there. My question is, how is the housing market? Our daughter, and three beautiful granddaughters, live in McEwen (go to Dickson and turn left) and the job is in Southeast Nashville. Looking at the half way point, maybe Fairview?
Any advice is welcome. TIA.

I live 50 miles south of Nashville. The housing market right now is a BUYER"S market. Prices are steady and the homes offered are plentiful and in a wide range of price.
Good luck to you on your move.

Tannis is spot on, buyers market!
You'll love it here! Traffic in Nashville is pretty close to what you're used to, unfortunate but true. We have just enough of each season to know we had a season, brilliant colors in the spring, little snow, lots of rain (with the rare exception of this year) you're close to everything and nearly everyone. Let us know what you decide! You'll be amazed at how far your dollar will go here when it comes to housing, $300,000 here will buy you a palace!

Middle TN is a very good place to move to
My husband's brother and his wife live in Smyrna, a "bedroom community" ouside of Nashville, and it's a great location - quiet, residential, homes on separate goodsize lots, reasonable prices on homes, not as much traffic, close to main arteries in and out of the main parts of the city, within easy driving of tons of shopping areas, friendly neighbors (at least where they live), seems to be well maintained. Their daughter went to the local schools, and they were satisfied with the school system there and her education. The housing market is down everywhere, good if you're a buyer.

Thank you Tannis, Sue and Sharon. We will be bringing our two horses, so we will be looking for horse friendly acreage. Do any of you have a realtor that you would recommend?

I can't recommend a realtor - sorry
This is great horse country, though, so if you stick with a well-known realty company, and let the broker know your requirements, you should do OK. Be sure you have the realtor "map out" the driving from the prospective home to your husband's work as some routes are much worse (congested) than others, and you'll definitely want to give that a lot of weight when you decide which home and in which area to buy.
