POA assistance needed!!!
Got a call regarding a POA I am to notarize, the document names two people who will not be present and two who will, one of the two who will be present informs that the other two should not be named. Can the names of the other two be crossed off and initialled? Pls respond ASAP.
Thanks!

You can cross them off the notarial certificate if they are on there. But you cannot cross names from the body of the document. You can only notarize those that are in your presence.

Much of it depends on who is giving power to whom. The person(s) giving the POA must sign it and the person(s) receiving the POA must acknowledge such powers. To cross anything out even with initialing undermines the original intent of the document. I wouldn't do it.
I had a strange request to notarize a rental agreement. Land contract - maybe, but a rental agreement? I did some sniffing only to conclude that my notary stamp would be in jeopardy. I told them to call someone else.
