Part Time Jobs....Where are you going???

I have been reading more and more that notaries are looking for part time gigs... I was just curious as to what type of part time jobs you were loking into...retail...another type of home based business...etc.

Just curious...

Preservation Services..

With foreclosures on the rise, we have began property preservation services for real estate agencies, banks and lenders. You would not believe what people leave behind when they abandon a home that is about to be foreclosed upon. We really enjoy it (most of the time), and it is really helping out when closings are far and few between. I predict in the next couple of years, we will be doing this exclusively.

Re: Preservation Services..

I'm looking for additional ways to make money also. How did you get started doing preservation work? Also, does anyone do foreclosure inspections? If so how do you get started?
Thanks

Re: Preservation Services..

When you find out, can you pass that on to me?

Re: Preservation Services..

my son was winterizing and securing a mobile home a year or so ago. It was late at night, he had flood lights on everywhere, the hose running outside draining the hot water heater, and I believe he was boading up a window at the time. He hears a loud voice tell him to come out with his hands up. Out he goes in his coveralls, dirty, very clearly working, and the police put him down on the ground, hand cuffed him, and put him in a police car until they could 'verify' his story. He had a work order showing what he was to do, had already changed locks, posted the property, etc. Since that time, he now calls the police in the jurisdiction he's working in to give them a heads up what he's doing.

I actually picked up a a part time job waiting on tables at a golf club. I work for 4 - 5 hours a night, 3 nights a week. 2 of those nights are usually weekend nights, so I make pretty good money as a back up. And I'm still able to do my notary work as well.
