Reluctant to list my fees

Could someone express their opinion on the listing of their fees on here. I am a bit reluctant to do so, for fear that this may not be appropriate or simulated by what others consider "conformity." However, I have attempted it, but the hypothetical formula and results that occur are not truly what my fee was intended to be, so I either think I had entered my fee incorrectly according to the mileage, or I'm just a big looooser! Does it truly make a difference in generating work? Because if it does, I'm sooo there. Please help a humbled greenie. Thank you all so much in advance.

I would not discuss fees here. Market your services and negotiate fees when a call comes through.

I have never listed my fees on here or any other forum. Suppose, for instance, you list your fee as $100, and you get a company call you and agree to the $100, whereas if you hadn't listed your fee you may have been offered $125 or more.

You will get reminders when you log in that you do not have a complete fee profile. I just ignore it.

Since no one is listing fees here, then you might want to list your fees here. as the companies are shopping now for lowest fees

Hello Cheryl, I feel the way you feel. I had my fees listed but not getting the response I was hoping for so I took the fees off for a minute just to experiment as too how many views I would get. I do have to say that leaves it open for discussion when a company calls. But then you get a red message on your profile saying that you need to update your fees. You can put a fee in there and just put in your profile that you are open to negotiation or what have you. As for the mileage I just include it in my base fee and leave the mileage box as "no charge". I think NOTROT automatically calculates at 65 miles total or at least that is the message I get. But I just use the base fee and edocs to set my price and include everything else in the base fee.

Speaking of which, what is meant by "Copy cost/package" in the fee part of the profile. What's the difference between the e-docs and charging to copy the package.? Or is that one or the other (and if so, why make a difference.?)

I think by copy cost, they are talking about the few companies that o/n the lenders package to you and expect you to run off a set for the borrowers. So you aren't pulling docs off the comp, just copying 1 set. At least that's what I've always thought that meant....

You may be right Christal, but every o/n I've gotten has had both. What's your fee for that if you make the distinction.?

I wonder if anyone actually looks at the fee schedule. When I get called by a new compayn, I am always asked "Are you available?" and "What do you charge?"

I have a simple webpage that I list fees on. I charge what I thinks is a fair price to make money and a fair price to get business for a basic area. I won't charge more just because I think a company will pay more. But I very seldom take less also. For areas outside my basic area, I ask them to call for a quote. When you put in that your fees are negotiable, then that is another way of saying "Here are my fees, but if you push it, I will work cheaper?" A company will never negotiate up. Good Luck ...

I do not list my fees for a few simple reasons....

Is it that time of the monthWink? oh come on - I mean eom not pms.
Is it in my zip code? Or do I have to cross over mountain?
Is it e-m docs or overnight? Hello? where are the docs half hour after the appointment....
Is t 1 or 2 loans? Is it a purchase where I have to listen and make another hour for the R.E. agent to explain my position?
Do you want 9,000 fax-backs?
Do I need to call when you e-mail the confirmation, when I leave....when I arrive, when it's done?
When I'm delivering? What the color of their walls were? Why there's snot on the mortgage when the two year old is allowed to walk on the 7 inch Ray we signed on in the basement?
Do I already have something else scheduled at this time? Can I negotiate time, place and fee?

To me, this is not a fixed price situation, especially when you have to figure in dry cleaning for the dog that 'mistook' your long leg (and it's not freaking yellow) for a fire hydrant - can you say " oh, that happens all the time!"

It's all negotiable.

I just have "fees start at $75" in my profile. I figure that might weed out some of the $50 companies, but doesn't lock me into anything pricewise.

I list my fees! I don't want $50 SS's calling me any more that I want telephone marketing people calling. I do not 'sign-up' with $50 companies. I do not PAY supposed SS's to 'list me.' Why waste your time saying no. If someone want's my service, and need's the job done once, expertly. They call me, and pay my fee. If not, they are welcome to go elsewhere.
