SOX

SOX is still in business. They owe me for 2 signings from June. I knew their reputation but I thought I would take a chance. We'll see. DD

WTH?

If you know their reputation, what on EARTH would compel you to accept an assignment?
I am sorry, but if you never see your money, you sorta deserve it.

Jersey_Boy, I agree with you. You kinda get what you deserve. What expect anything different.

You're absolutely right. I don't expect sympathy. I deserve what I get. But if they don't pay me, they will have a fight on their hands. DD

Here's what you told me back when

"You work for $50.00 - $60.00 cheapo companys. Sure, they know they have a good thing going with you. You work twice as hard as I do and for less money. I value my work more than that. Have a good one."

I can only guess that you didn't follow your own advice. So keep going for that SOX money, for it is obvious to me that you value your work more than I do.

Re: Here's what you told me back when

I beg your pardon. I never told you or anyone that I work for $50 or $60 because I don't. I don't accept anything less than $100 and that is the overnight fee. SOX agreed to pay me a fair fee. I'll see if they do.

you supposed my business to be. Good luck on getting your money.

It's not a pipe dream, it's outright stupidity

Here's what you wrote in December:

"I'm sick and tired of being cheated out of my fee by scam signing services and title companys. More than that... I'm scared that more & more crooked companys are jumping on the bandwagon to take advantage of us knowing full well they have no intention of paying us. And getting away with it."

And then six months later you take 2 signings from SOX???? Wanna take a wild guess why they're still getting away with it? Because idiots like you, knowing full well how they run their business, STILL take work from them.

And the cherry on top of the sundae is that you actually posted a warning about SOX on the board, and showed how truly stupid you really are. Like anyone who's been on this board over a week hasn't already seen enough warnings about SOX. You obviously didn't heed the warnings, why would you expect anyone else to?

Re: It's not a pipe dream, it's outright stupidity

They haven't gotten away with anything yet, as far as I'm concerned. I'm a separate company entity and I operate my own business as I see fit. I suggest you do the same. I don't criticize the way you do business and I expect the same courtesy. I don't hang onto your coatatails. No company has ever taken me to the cleaners. I aways get paid and I intend to this time. Normally, I don't respond to posts such as this... calling people names will get you nowhere. It just shows the level of your intelligence.

"calling people names will get you nowhere. It just shows the level of your intelligence."

Ummm, YOU'RE the one who did work for SOX, not me. That makes you the dumba$$, not me.

And if you don't want people to criticize the way you do business, then don't post a message on the board about the way you do business. Once you put it out there, you're inviting all of us to respond however we wish.

And as for SOX not having gotten away with anything yet, yes, they did. You'll spend at LEAST as much in collection effort time as you made on the signing, and very likely even more than that. But if you see fit to run your business by taking jobs that you'll have to spend $$$ to collect $$, plus doing a signing on top of all that, by all means be my guest. As for me, I see fit to run my business like somebody who is looking to make a profit. And the first step in doing that is not being a freaking idiot when I accept jobs.

Re: SOX - Solution

For those of you that read this forum and STILL take work from SOX, I have a suggestion. If you're so he11 bent on running your business at a loss try the less stress approach. When SOX calls with a job just say NO, then take $50 out of your wallet and go flush it down the toilet. Same result - less stress.

Re: SOX - Solution

GREAT IDEA! But not exactly the same result! If everyone that works for SOX did this, it would have the much needed additional result of putting them out of business! Less stress for everyone!

Re: I've been doing this for just a year now...

and after reading this board from day one I went through a week or two last fall where SOX called me 4 times - and each time my answer was the same - "No, sorry, I can't help you - you don't pay your notaries". I haven't heard from them since.

I am not surprised to see new people posting how shocked they are that SOX would dare not pay them - you expect new people to run into that problem, if not with SOX then with maybe the handful of other notorious no-pay companies - but I'm surprised to see this type of post from someone who's been in the business for a while and should know better.

Good luck to you collecting.
