Turning off 'duplexing'
I had a closing the other day and the TC's verbal instructions were to print on all legal and one side only. I chose "Legal" in my settings, and also clicked on the box to choose Paper Source by PDF Page Size.
When the docs started printing, they did print on all legal, but I noticed right away that some of the docs were also being printed on both sides, like the Mortgage, Note and a few others. I quickly aborted the printing and went into my settings to turn off duplexing. But when I looked at the settings, duplexing was not even activated.
Because I had other printer problems and little time to troubleshoot because the docs came late, I just continued letting it print some docs on both sides since I figured it came from the lender that way. Docs were retrieved by me from a RemoteDocs website. I called the TC on the way to the closing to let her know some docs printed on both sides and they said it would probably be okay.
Does anyone know if there is anyway I could have suppressed the duplexing?

It might help if we knew what kind if printer you are using. For me I always 'send what I get.' Letter, legal, both sides, a mix of all, however they send it to me.

I would think you could go to the HELP tab for that printer and search for duplex. Find the printer icon, click on it, select the printer if you have more than one and go to the help tab at the bottom. Just guessing of course. I've got the 5140 and I don't have duplex.

Yes I did do that.......
Like Les said...you get what you send me....if the program they send it in has it on both sides, that's what they're going to get back.
I'm guessing it was the TC assuming it should be all on one side, but the package came in a doc viewer from the lender.
I'm not going to worry about it.

Re: Yes I did do that.......
Sorry, My Printer is an HP 1320tn. I just "uncheck the box". This year I've only had a couple loan packages that have had the DOT, and maybe one other doc printed on both sides. It's rare for me. I only notice it when my printer spits out a page then sucks it back again. That said, If that's the way they send it, thats the way I print it. (You just have to REMEMBER to have the borrowers initial, and sign the BACK of the docs.) Some title co's say on their confirmation something like "please use all legal". This is because they don't want you REDUCING the doc from legal to letter. I've almost never had a problem with printing the docs as they send them (except a couple of times when THEY scanned them in sloppily, usally faxed docs) Personally I'd leave the printer alone.
