Unbelievable! Rec'd Pkg & Docs Printed with Inkjet Printer

I am finishing up the 2nd part of a closing (signing the wife). I opened the package and can't believe my eyes. Documents were printed with an inkjet printer. Some of the pages are faded and some are cut off. The notary didn't even go back an print the documents that didn't print correctly. I just can't believe this. Talk about professionalism and pride in your work. There definately is a lack in this case. Should I call the title company and let them know or just do my part and let it be?

I would call Title and give them the heads up.

I'd call the title company and let them know. No point in you making 2 trips if they're gonna refuse these docs. Maybe they can email you a new set and then get them resigned on the other end.

Makes you wonder how much of that sort of thing Title companies see.

No wonder they have their laundry list of rules...like dress appropriately...no spandex....don't bring your pets or your kids with you..no drinking on the job...make sure you call us every five minutes to let us know what's going on. It must be a necessity to do that.

Obviously the notary does not realize that the cost per page to print with an inkjet vs. a laserjet is much higher.

That $50 is not going to go far...

The inkjet is one thing, but

"Some of the pages are faded and some are cut off. The notary didn't even go back and print the documents that didn't print correctly"

that last part is unbelievable!

Must be a new notary/recent loan signing course graduate. This person must have been blind not to notice that pages had been cut off. Where did the borrower sign the document if the bottom was cut off?

Re: Unbelievable! Rec'd Pkg & Docs Printed with Inkjet Print

The 1003 was cutoff and she did not have the borrower sign it at all, not even on the top of the 1st page. I finished looking through the package and she actually put her notary seal on every signature line that had "seal" at the end. She also had the borrower date the mortgage and note. This package looks a mess. Oh, it gets worse, the documents are dated for the 23rd and the husband signed on the 21st. I called the SS because I don't have the title company's number. They emailed me the 1003 and told me to just go ahead and do my part. I said ok. I will be looking for a call on Monday to go resign the wife because I don't think this package is going to fly.

I KNOW that Notary!!!!

It wouldn't be a notary from Northern Ohio, would it? My brother got the same thing last month - every page stamped and half of it missing.

Pathetic!
