Why is it......

when someone has an issue with a notary, whether it is a notorial act or not, they bring up the Secretary of State. I read a post where someone was thinking about complaining to the S.O.S. about a notary that sold him something (we all know the real story now and it was due to a family emergency) but why would the S.O.S's name come up over a personal issue?

I heard someone a month ago (not on this board) that was complaining about a notary and something they had done (allegedly) and they were going to call the S.O.S. on them.

Why call them and report them, take them to court.

I've heard that there will soon be a REQUIREMENT that a NOTARY have an IQ of at least 56. This may stop all these calls to the SOS... I hope!

You are right Loretta, the SOS office will only get involved over notary acts, not personal problems.
