small claims court

Has anyone had to ever take a ss or title co. to small claims for non-payment?

I went to small claims court for another business I had, and I just got my payment last month! including interest and court costs. I have threatened ss companies 3 times. Two times the threat alone was enough to get me paid.

so did you threaten with the bbb first, how did you handle it? What if they are in a different state?

I was able to get a judgement against a Title company for the full fee+court costs. They tried to use the "we didn't get paid, so we couldn't pay the notary" routine. The judge didn't buy it.

If they are located in a different state, you may be able to file the claim online, however when the court date is set you MUST be present. The suit is handled in the County where the plaintiff resides or where business is located.

I am going through the process now...uhg.
