Another No Pay Event
I am owed for four signings performed for DAWN EVANS, of PINNACLE REAL ESTATE SERVICES located in California. Previously, this company has been excellent and I have worked for them for years. Now, their main number is "disconnected" and messages left on Dawn's number of 949-289-1636 go unanswered. This would appear to be another situation where inept people attempt to run a business and have no qualms about stiffing people whom they have contracted to work for them. I have read previous posts from those who say that notaries should have "common sense" and should just "expect" to lose money. That's just plain stupid - and not how I work. I pay my people even if I do NOT get paid. They did the work - they deserve the pay. If anyone finds fault with honesty, that's just too bad.

I accepted one from them last week and told Debra that the only way I would accept it was if got it in writing that I would be paid in 30 days and she did. I also let her know that if I have any trouble getting paid I will go straight to the title company because I have done many closings directly for this TC and I KNOW they won't do business with a co. that is not paying the closers. We'll see.

I had the same thing happen. I finally got paid after 4 months and a phone call to the lender. Try calling Debra Wannaberg (Dawn's signing coordinator) at (949)940-8035. This is her direct line.
I ended up calling Wendy Aragon at Lenders Direct Mission Hills. This was the lender for the signing I did. Her number is 714-210-7122. She was terrrific! I called Wendy and asked for help collecting my fee. She called Dawn right after I hung up because I got a phone call within an hour telling me they were issuing my check that day and even gave me the check number. The check came a few days later.
I wish you luck. I'll never take another one from Pinnacle or any company that Dawn Evans is associated with.

Need to quit complaining
you people, seriously need to quit complaining, with the current market the way it is and alot of lenders are closing down and going bankrupt. I'm sure the signing services are having a hard time getting their payments too. luckily some of them are still open and are trying to make payment arrangements so I can get paid. But I realize that this is the type of bussiness I choose to do. So I accept that the mortgage industry can go up or down and just go with it. Remember we are independent contractors, yes the companies are obligated to pay us, but with that we also take a risk. Some of you notaries seriously need to find some other more stable work if you cant hack this. you just gotta suck it up and carry on.
