FASS just sent me an email...

$25 is the fee for an electronic signing. I told them to outsource it to India where they outsource their title work. I'm not driving to a borrowers home for that.

Come on people, are you that hard up to accept this fee change. Some of you are and this will help throw you out of the signing business. You will get what you deserve.

Loretta, I got the impression that that was the print fee. A lot of them have gone down that far anyway.

I know that some are now using the electronic signings (not in my area). It was my impression that this is what they were talking about.
Heck, I'm mad as you know what at them today. Got a call to do a closing, they agreed to my fee and then sent me the confirmation with $50 on it. I went ballistic on them.
She actually tried to con me into it.
Sorry if I jumped the gun. ($25 has always been my print fee)

Let me get this straight.... they expect the notary to have/pay for all the equipment needed, drag it to a B's home where everybody gathers around your little ol' laptop... for $25! ROFLMAO... sorry, FASS, but this just doesn't cut it. Not even for across the street. Anybody that buys into this needs their head examined, imho.

Either way...edocs, or "e-tronic" signing, whatever...that's a laugh and a half.

Re: FASS just sent me an email...It was the edoc fee....

I got a reply back stating that I would be taken out of their system immediately because of the tone of my voice in email. I told them to outsource it to India like they do everything else.
Do they really think that I need them.

Re: FASS just sent me...Loretta...

isn't that like the tenth time they have threatened you with that?

I have been told they'd take me out many times but I still get the occasional call when they need someone.

Re: FASS just sent me an email...Lee, can you imagine

what a long signing this could turn into? It would be at least 30 minutes from start to finish IF AND ONLY IF everything goes okay when you're packing equipment like that in and out.

Addendum

Please be advised, the earlier fee change notification pertains to the electronic printing of documents only. This document printing fee is in addition to the standard signing fee paid per order.

Re: Addendum

What was their fee prior to this? I have a hard time imagining this cheapass company paying above the going rate for edocs.

I thought 25 per loan for e-docs was their fee

I am going to go out on a limb, and say they are reducing the fee to all inclusinve, regardless if the loan has a first and a second. Either way, not a very good attempt at trying to communicate with their vendors:-o

"...regardless if the loan has a first and a second."

That very well may be the key question. I'm not going to overreact, but you can be sure I'm going to ask, if the situation arises. Usually the only time they call me anyway is when they're desperate -- and I end up getting pretty much title co fees. Suits me just fine.

I am sure someone will do it, not sure if anyone will stoop that low in NJ. The cost alone would prevent alot of people from doing this type of closing.

So let me get this:

Eclose+print out docs to be signed, travel and go to UPS or FedEx box and the real kicker - faxback docs. $25 dollars.. Wait can I pay you to do this job..lol

Re: $35 was their print fee.

And it is still my print fee - has been and will continue to be. My costs and time are mine and nobody sets my fees except me. I'm not here to lose money or break even, I have costs and overhead that must be met.
