Final Step
Here's some info for all you folks that have not been paid by Gary of Final Step. There is two civil suits filed in Carroll County against Final Step. I will be doing the same. Look at this website under Final Step. http://casesearch.courts.state.md.us/inquiry/inquiry-index.jsp
Anyone interested in doing the same you can call Carroll County district court at 410-871-3500. Use the complaint form DC/CV 1. Do 2 sets of forms and any attachments. It is $20 to file and $10 for him to be served Certified mail or $40 for him to be served by the Sheriff.
Here is the MD court website for the form http://mdcourts.gov/district/dctcivforms.html#civil
Send form, attachments and money to: Carroll County MD District Court 101 North Court Street Westminster, MD 21157
Gary, if you're reading this - your day in court is coming. You'd better go out and get a real job to pay your debts!!!!!!!!

This is what needs to happen to every one of these scumbag companies. They need to be sued! BBB complaints don't work, whining about them won't help you get your money. This is what the legal system is for, use it to your advantage.

I've never had any dealings with him, but I'm just curious - can you recover court costs if you win? And if you do win, is it just a judgment against him that you then have to collect?

to answer your question on court costs
I got $150.00 from the judge for court costs when I won small claims in Calif. (different business , not notary) & I finally got all my dough ,plus 150.00 for the court costs.

Here's a copy of the message that I just received from TFS (28 December 2007) in response to my most recent request for payment of a past due invoice:
"Amy , i am sorry i can not help you . I am just helping today . Today is my last day here and Gary Plummer the owner is filing a bankruptcy so i guess he would send letter to all his creditors and notaries . I am sorry you have to deal with all these problems.
Luis"
I guess I should consider myself fortunate that all I am out is $25 for a doc print fee on a cancelled signing.
