It is a wonderful day but I will be glad when it is over. I am attending a funeral this afternoon of a really nice guy that I graduated with. He decided to drink and drive and it took his life. 36 years old. Growing up at the beach has always felt like Lionel Richie's song "All night long". I have buried 10 of my classmates since 1989; most of them in car accidents.
I wish someone would get the message. It's not worth getting behind the wheel. My son was run over by a drunk driver when he was 14. She (5 years later) has still never apologized to him. She served a year in prison. He did not walk for months and she hit him hard enough to give him road rash, he had no skin on the right side of his arm, back, leg and face.
It's just not worth it. Have a great day everyone.

I have been there, done that, bought the t-shirt and took it back for a refund. I know all about addiciton. It doesn't take big words to know what the problems are. You must be very well educated. Out of 32 in my graduating class, we know what the problems are, it's just how they deal with it that may be their demise.

Also, I am a widow of someone who chose to become a strong obsessed alcoholic. Who did pass not long ago because he liked to self-medicate. It has been a released for me and his children because we do not have to make up excuse for someone’s shocking amount of drinking.
