LSI
I used to get a lot of work from them, my fee was $100.00 base which is normal for Md. I spoke to the supervisor in scheduling he told me I would have to lower the fee by $25.00. I actually thought of doing it but after thinking about it a couple of days decided to forget LSI. It seems the nationwide title companies want something for nothing. Not interested. It will get busy again they will come looking and if they don't there are many local title companies willing to pay for a professional.

Ilene, the base might have been $100 for LSI but we get more over here on the other side of the bridge. Is that for email docs?

I love these companies thinking when they want to reduce rates. They try to get title producers first and when none will bite at those fees you get the, "we have plenty of notaries who accept those fees". When it is mentioned to them this is a title producer state they state we don't need a title producer, as if they are magically immune to the state requirement.

as with any company...
you're in business for yourself...I never get low balled by LSI, they know me well and the quality of my work - I take whatever they call me for. the best thing about being an independent contractor is ---If you don't agree with any one company change or new policy, the best thing you got going for you is the word no.

Very true. And just like any good American company if you can't get the legals to work for peanuts hire an illegal.

I just don't get this thing about where we (people doing the actual work) are supposed to lower our fee's. The bo's are still paying the same amounts to get these loans. I refuse to be the only one along the food chain to get less for the same amount of work.

Just tell them when....
...gasoline prices and the cost of utilites get reduced, you'll be happy to then lower your fee. Until then.....
