Precision Closings--Brea,Ca--Out of Business?
It appears, to my dismay that they are out of business and like other Signing Service companies (ie. United Notaries) they have taken "our" money and ran. Most of their phone numbers have either been disconnected or no one will answer. I have left many messages, emails, and faxes for someone to contact me. NO ONE will respond. Their web site is also discontinued. I am in the process of communicating with Ditec's Notary Coordinator Roberta Rice (if she will respond to my inquiry). I know they are not responsible to pay me but perhaps she can put the squeeze on Percision Closings owner whoever that may be. It is a crying shame that these low lifes know their company is in trouble but go ahead and contract unsuspecting notarys to do work for them knowing all the time they will keep your pay.

What is really sad. We have to have a "background" check to make sure we're not Wanted in all 50 states. Go figure !
Hope you are able to collect from Ditech.

Teddog, you are so right on the mark. Wonder what kind of prequalifications/credit checks (?) SS's have to go thru when they are selected by the lenders for their bulk assignments.

JK the tactics used by some of these companies I would have to say they just file them under "Who the heck cares." No matter how you analysis these persistant problems the notary is the big loser.

We had plenty of warning ...
There has been plenty of warning on this company on the boards since 2004. No surprise here.

Re: We had plenty of warning ...
No there wasn't plenty of warning. They are rated 3 1/2 stars on this site with latest comments of pay low but rapidly. I checked them out using this site before taking the job. Unfortunately, no one can predict the future. I just wish I lived in California so I could visit these deadbeats in person. I would get some sort of satisifaction.

Michael, I don't care how they scored in the ratings,
I don't pay attention to those. Search this and any other of the notary forums and you will find stories of slow pay, low pay and 3-4 months behind in some cases dating back to 2004. All should set off an alarm. In 2004, there was no excuse. As a business, you need to research unknown companies, gather the data and exercise some common sense. I turned them down a few times based on what I found on the boards ........ We had plenty of warning ........

New info for those of you who are owed money
from this company. I received this email concerning a proceeding against them ___________ Glenn, I could not post this on the notary rotary as I do not have an account set up. It does appear that they have shut down and run off with the cash. I have contacted the building management company and let them know that Precision Closings (Stephanie Hoagland) may be skipping out on them. I have also filed a complaint with the CA Attorney General's Office. I also called all the title companies that I did work for through Precision and let them know that they are not paying for the work done. It is my intention to look into filing an involuntary petition, but I need to find others out there who have not been paid for work in November or December 2007, as the unsecured claim needs to be about 14,000. Could you please post this on the page. They may not pay anyone but they should not get to enjoy their ill-gotten gains.
____________
If you would like to join this person in this proceeding, drop me an email and I will put you in contact ...

blast from the past
...Precision Closings (Stephanie Hoagland...
it all comes full circle. When Kim Cooke (KMC) lost the DiTech account they shortly went out of business owing lots of people lots of money. Stephanie left Kim shortly before their demise and opened her own signing service - with DiTech as one of her main clients. She apparently learned from the master.
