Re: LAOSS -- Are they serious?

I've done some signings for them and even though people on the forum have complained about the low fees, I had no problem getting them to agree to pay more. They were calling me regularly and I turned a couple assignments because of other commitments, but the last one I did I told them that since they hadn't paid me for the first assignment I'd done for them I wasn't comfortable doing anything more until I got paid. They agreed to the much higher fee and then promised I'd be on a weekly pay schedule from then on. I received a check shortly after paying me up to date. Then I got two calls from them and they tried to tell me they couldn't pay more than $60-65. I told them I was sorry but I couldn't work for that price and they said they'd see if they could get my proposed fee approved. I never heard back from them. Is it just me or do they try to hook you in with higher fees and lots of work at first and then once you've gotten paid slice it down hoping you'll keep working at the lower rate because you think you'll be getting regular ongoing work from them? What's the scoop?

It sounds like they like to play games and get you hook line and sinker I think I would have second or third thoughts about going back to them if I were you.

Be careful with them, several times they've booked me then booked someone else leaving me waiting for hours when I call they said they gave the job to someone else. (And they sent a job order) They are the pitts to work for in addition to the ridiculous fees.

Re: LAOSS -- Are they serious?

Same thing happened to me with them about a month ago. They met my fee after calling around. I accepted. Then, they called around some more and found someone cheaper. Got the confirmation, called borrower and they left me hanging. Never again will I even waste my time with them. They can stick it where the sun don't shine as far as I'm concerned.
Boy, do I sound like a grinch? lol
