SS posing as an individual?

This evening, a good TC client of mine assigned me a split closing, and was in need of a Notary in Sunrise Beach, MO (my old stompin' grounds). I referred a Premier Member, and she didn't return their call. (probably at work)
I gave the TC the next number on the NotRot list which was an individuals name. The phone was answered by someone at PDQ Signing Service. ???
This puzzles me. Phones forwarded to a SS? Hmm....

PDQ is a SS Located Here in St Louis...

...they maintain a stable of "employee" Notaries across the State of Missouri according to what I've been able to gather. I knew their original owner, but he sold the business about a year ago to the present one.

I've seen something similar

Another group in Michigan seems to be trying to start their own notary network. There are only two or three people listed on their "network," but one of them is actually a signing service pretending to be a notary signing agent. Shame on them. I won't mention who they are because they're pretty irrelevant right now. But if they cross my path, all bets are off.
