Tax Time Again

I like Quicken Home & Business. I have used Quickbooks for another business but it a little more bookkeeping program than I want.

What I really like is "Turbo Tax Home & Business."

I used this for the first time for 2005 taxes and it saved me mucho dollars. The reason is the program asked me so many detailed questions on my business deductions that I hadn't thought of before.

It was simple to use and cost approx $85 at Costco instead of the almost $500 I was spending on my business and personal taxes.

You can download your information from Quicken & Quickbooks into Turbo Tax.

Re:Tax Time Again-I could have gone all nite w/o hearing tax

time :O}...just kidding/not really...... Question: with the tax laws/allowances changing each year do you have to buy new software or do an upgrade?

Also, I know many of you use Tax ID# instead of SSN's.... how do you work the TIN into your 1040 that has your SSN...... been curious about this a while.

JK, you use the TIN on the schedule C that you must file. The 1040 will always be your SS number.

" Question: with the tax laws/allowances changing each year do you have to buy new software or do an upgrade? "

I also use TurboTax Home & Business - I'm on auto-renewal...get new software each fall for the tax year ($85 or so plus tax and shipping) and the updates are free...when I was in CT I also received the state filing program free...

You are correct Joan,
Plus it audits your return for known triggers at the IRS. Then you get to review the sections it identifies to ensure you have the correct information and the receipts to back it up.

It is well worth the $, and its a business expense to boot!
