We are back in the office
OP Notary is open and back in the office since Saturday. We finally have power and phones. This storm really tore up the area - many "ginormous" trees down and took the telephone and power lines with them. The office was safe, no damage.
A/P sent checks out (working in a local motel that had power) on Thursday and Friday. So there were no delays in notaries being paid. Thank you to all who phoned and emailed us to get us through this difficult time.
Look forward to working with notary rotary notaries once again - we will try and keep your phones ringing with assignments. Although, December is typically a slower month.

I'm thankful you are alright and back in business. It sure turns our worlds upside down. Just north of my area got hit Sat night and early Sun with an ice storm. There are thousands without power right now. We dodged a bullet this time. Last year I didn't have power for 3 days due to an ice storm. Its not fun. Wishing you well.

That's news worth hearing, Gina and James
I haven't had a chance to work with you much, but my few experiences showed that you are one of the companies that deserve to stay in business. Hope December is good for you and that 2008 will be your best year ever.

Re: Here we are...just on the other side of the mtns...
I am glad that storm missed Spokane - it was a bad one. For those in Washington, it was compared to the storms of 1996 and 1962 - and it ranked uo with those top 2 worse storms of the Pacific Northwest. Last year - one year ago, we had 70 mile sustained winds and were down for two days and the area was a mess. But this storm was very different - it just snapped trees like they were nothing. The winds were clocked at 82 mph - 112 -so now you know why there was no power for a week. We had no floods, but the county north of us - GRAYS HARBOR, had floods and so did LEWIS county. They shut down the main artery - I-5 - to Seattle because the Chehalis River covered several miles in 10 feet of water.....

Re: It's funny how the weather can be so different...
We did get the rain...hail...and such, but not nearly like you. The wind was incredible on Sunday. We were watching Desperate Houswives when they were having the twister. Sort of creaped me out with the wind REALLY howling here, at the same time.
In 1996, Ice Storm wiped out our power for 10 days...Brian & I lived in a single wide...no power, no heat. We had a generator, but after about 4 days we 'turned in the towel' and went to stay with family. Funny to think of how we used the barbecue, on the front porch, pulled up to the door. It was so cold, but we had a nice barbecued meatloaf (???) and a can of corn...sitting around little space heaters.
Man those were the good ol' days. <smile> I think we would be much better off with no heat these days. What we could have done with a fire place back then!
Really happy all is well.
