"Pre-inked" vs "Self-Inking" Stamps

I need a new notary stamp and have been thinking about the Stingray that NR sells. Can anyone comment on the difference in the quality, stamp impression, etc. between self-inking (the raised seal image flips up to hit the ink pad each time) and pre-inked (the ink soaks through the seal image which is flat)? Someone told me told me that pre-inked uses oil based ink that may bleed through the paper while the water based ink in a self-inker won't. I don't want to worry about the ink bleeding through the paper, if that is correct, especially with two-sided documents.

I have both the pre-inked Stingray and the self-inking Vision sold here on Notary Rotary. Neither one bleeds through, although you CAN see the ink from the Stingray from the back side of the paper, but it does not bleed through to the point where it's bleeding onto the paper underneath. I think I prefer the Stingray because the Vision seems to be light in a couple of spots (never the same spot) unless I stamp it just right.

Ditto

The pre inked I have found to be of high quality and have not had an issue with bleed through.
