1000 watt pure spine inverter

Last summer I decided to go completely mobile. I bought a pure spine inverter so I could print loan docs in my car. Now that I have an assistant I no longer need it.
It is a 1000 watt Pure Spine Inverter which is what is required to run a laser printer from your car. I paid 350 will take 225.00.

I had a great laugh at this and don't take offense but

the word is "sine" not spine. A sine wave is an orderly progression from 0 to a value back to 0 and to a negative value which is the oposie of the first value and then back to 0. This we have one full cycle. Most of the current in the world is 60 cycles and is supposed to be sine. Unfortunately some power companies don't produce a pure sine wave and so it causes some electronics to act funny (I'll spare you the discussion).

I wold truly love to find a spine invertier because after all the years of waling upright I'd love to invert my spine and get a chance to wear it the other way.

Yours will certainly run a laser printer as I use a 1000 watt inverter myself. Good luck selling it the inverter is the basis of any decent mobile system.

Maybe she meant that now that she has an assistant, she doesn't need a spine?

Whatever... I'm having a hard time visualizing how all this would work. Would those who are fully mobile mind describing what the set up looks like in their car? I'm picturing a laser printer in the back seat, laptop in the passenger seat, cables draped everywhere... How do you park your car and leave all that stuff in plain sight??

Mine's real simple just an inverter and the printer...

I use a mini van and the printer is set up in the back under a privacy panel and I use a laptop. The laptop connects to the internet via a data card and the printer has a scanner cartridge for it. I have a mount for the laptop between the two front seats and the laptop stays on via a velcro panel. Both the prointer and the laptop connect to the inverter via a suplex plug in the back of the car and I use two gel batteries in the back that charge through a splitter off the main battery. Actually a pretty simple system. When I can't use the data card I cruise around until I find a Wi-Fi signal (Smith Micro makes a sensor that is alos a key fob). That's it, all the comforts of home well kinda!

Charles: Would a generator work? As in RV with lots of

comforts of home? Smile

Re: Charles: Would a generator work? Of course but...

in a car it seems a bit of overkill and expense. A good Onan unit like that in an RV is expensive. A lot of the smaller generators designed for general construction use (mostly inductive loads) don't have as tightly controlled parameters and could cause damage to your equipment. Generators are heavy, and you need a fuel system and an exhaust system that has no possiblilty of entering the cab. I just think unless you are using your motorhome for business an inverter is the simplest way to go.

This sounds intriguing, but I would probably have to upgrade my car first...

I took a look at that Smith Micro device - that's pretty neat. I have a friend who's a newspaper photographer and always needs to transmit her stuff while on the road; a WiFi connection is always her first choice. I think I'll get one of those for her and make her life a little easier.

I have an assistant also, but that does not help me when I am 1 1/2 hours away and need to print
documents right then. I can't go all the way home. I have an SUV and tinted windows, you can not see much, everything is in the back. Only 1 cord runs from the back to plug into a strip

A 1000 W PURE Sine inverter new for $350. That is a great price. Where did you get it? Where are you located. I am interested in it if it is truly a pure sine inverter. Most ones that I found that size were around $800.+ I bought a 150W car lighter inverter that will run my canon injet printer, scanner & laptop.
