Another lost $60 e-doc "opportunity"....
I know that things have been slow and folks are getting hungry......I was just given a wonderful offer of $60.00 for a 4 pm e-doc (and rush to drop it by 5pm Fed Ex deadline, please!) signing. When I quoted my standard fee, I was told that they never pay that (not true; they have paid me that last year) and that I was the most expensive quote the scheduler had gotten for the job to date. This confirms the suspicions of others on this board who feel they are being asked to bid on jobs in a race to the bottom! I placed my "high bid" and am not waiting to hear back from him. Let a newbie take it.......
Since I had more offers (at my regular fee) for last night that I could accept, I am waiting for the same to happen today......Let’s see.

Re: Mine was higher, they offered me $80.
last night, but it wasn't for last minute, just edocs. I too quoted my standard fee and was told it was a new policy that they only give $80. regardless as to who it is or where the closing is to take place. So when he called me back today and agreed to my fee I was really shocked. Maybe my fees need to be raised (lol) or is it just because the weather and roads are really bad and no one else wants to go out.

Re: Mine was higher, they offered me $80.
I got a call from a usually $85 offer company. I told them it would be at least $250 for 45 miles away and they jumped on it. I was surprised, but I didn't want to do it at any price when I found out how late it would be.
They are going to lowball themselves into having no one left full time in Texas and find that it's just not working out like they planned.

Thanks for the encouragement. I hope I live to see the same trend develop in CA!

Re: Mine was higher, they offered me $80.
Probably kin to the person who took the $60 e-doc opportunity I was offered earlier today. There must be a related group out there who suffer from strange genetic defect that prevents proper business logic processing and makes them susceptible to “get rich quick” marketing.
Seriously, I bet they have never done a split signing before and have no idea what they are taking on. Remember the person who asked for advice earlier this week who agreed to a low e-doc assignment and ended up paying printing costs out of pocket and getting dinged for mistake? Low ball signing services depend on a large, ever replenishing pool of newbies without the experience or sense to know better as part of their business model. I am sure that they heavily lobby XYZ.

The ultimate insult $55 Edoc for 45 min drive
Yeah right. "We are only getting $60 from Lending Tree". Guess they better take that $60 and get on a plane cause no one in their right mind would do it for that.

Re: Got one better than that
I got a call late on a Friday. Someone wanted me to drive 3 1/2 hours one way to a little town in the middle of no where and wanted me to accept $100 for it. When I told them no, I was told that they could raise it up to $125. Needless to say, I didn't take the closing.
