Funny request...
I was called from a SS that I missed my signature in 2 occ. affidavit. The funny thing is that now they are asking for 2 loose ack. I told them that the docs that were notarized were jurats. I checked my journal and they are jurats. I am still waiting for copies of "my missed"signatures.
I am not sending loose ack, just because they say I missed something, they need to prove me on exactly which document I missed my signature. This smells pretty fishy to me.
Maybe the lender forgot some docs in the package and now that want just a quick fix from me. I will let you know what happens.
I double check my documents before leaving the borrowers home. And now at my house I double check them again. It is almost impossible for me to missed my signature. 99.99% could be a .01% chance?
Thank you.

When someone requests a loose acknowledgement or jurat I always require a faxed copy of the signature page / notarial block of the original document. That always stops the nonsense.
I'm not perfect, and it could happen that I forgot to use my embossing seal or initial a correction. If so, I will send AT MY EXPENSE whatever is needed to fix the problem.

I had a QC sent to me that was signed already. I had closed this loan in Dec. In looking at my journal and the actual loan packet, this document was not in the original signed packet. Who ever sent it filled the acknowledgement in for the Dec date in blue ink. I called the borrower and they confirmed it was signed the week before. No Brainer. Any loose acknowledgement should indicate the type & number of pages in the document. Then it is not a loose cannon.

I have been asked for a loose acknowledgment or jurat. On ANY loose certificate I provide, I will write in exactly what the certificate is for. Ex: Doc name, Doc Date, total Pages, loan number and anything else that can ensure is goes with the correct document and nothing more.
