How many of you...
...spend the $199/year for Source of Title? Always seemed too steep for me, but I'm wondering if there are lots of you out there who are members and feel that it is worth the money?
Thanks.

I dunno Gen.
But, for $199 it ought to include a free bottle of champaigne, free box of chocolates on Valentine's day and free fireworks on the 4th.
Obviously, I haven't forked out $199 and don't intend to unless I see more than what's on their free monthly newsletter.

Source of title
Is that the one that lists at the bottom (amongst other things) that there has been a total of 2 hits looking for notaries?

I get the free version; the 'good stuff' requires a fee and I haven't found it to be worth it.

Brenda/Tx
It seems like Brenda subscribes to this; I may be wrong, but seems like she said this in a post one time. I also get the free stuff. Ouch on the $199.

Re: How many of you...Jan - correct...I found it interesting
but not worth the $199. I miss having the "title scoop" but not enough to continue to read it. If I were still full time, I would probably want it, but as far as title companies, etc...I just create or find my own lists.

I agree with TitleGal, I get the e-mail version but ...
I think the complete edition would only be useful to a title producer. Another free e-mail publication that has a lot of good info and might be of more intereswt to an NSA is the free e-mail version of Mortgage Ledger
www.mortgageledger.com
It has a lot of interesting news as well a some excellent trending for the trade so that you can predict your future work or even if you keep your notary comission.

Thanks for that Charles
I'll check it out.
I find that title source is way too generic for me. Title issues vary so much from state to state that for me? Not worth it.
If I had my way, I'd ask CLTA to create a forum. I've thought of it many times, but never suggested it.
I guess I should do that.

You could actually start your own! There is freeware for
forums available for download on the internet.

I noticed that we, Source of Title, have had an unusually spike in traffic from notaries and I have managed to trace much of it to this forum. I have heard many good things about Notary Rotary, in fact, we even have a link to this site on our links page.
I wanted to take a moment to clarify a misconception that seems to be developing about Source of Title. The $199/year fee that is mentioned is not a requirement to use our site. Registration is FREE and includes a basic listing in our directory, access to our forums, and access to select articles and directory listings.
We do offer two fee based services: Subscriptions and Enhanced Listings. Subscriptions provide access to all of the free listings in our directory for those searching for vendors. Enhanced Listings make listings available to all of our registered users with no subscription required, as well as preferential placement in our directory.
Subscriptions are $199/year, and Enhanced Listings are charged based on the number of counties you cover, starting at $99/year. The vast majority of our users pay us nothing and utilize our services. We don't mind that at all, and we try not to do the "hard sell" to promote the fee based services - but they are there for those who desire those benefits.
I apologize if this post is too "commercial" or appears to be "self-serving." It is not my intention to offend anyone. I just wanted to clear up what I perceived to be a misconception.
As has been observed here, Source of Title's main focus in on the title industry and the majority of our services are targeted to the title agents and abstractors. We offered the listing category for "signing agents" in recognition that they play a large role in the title and closing process. We are by no means a replacement for Notary Rotary. I have often referred signing agents to this site when they inquire about other sites that are out there.
Best, Robert A. Franco SOURCE OF TITLE
