Re: No Sir, not in my book

Bet if I put my web site up here Harry would take this post off ASAP.

Most likely BUT

Your reputation preceeds you. Wish I lived in Arizona, doubt anyone has a negative remark to make about your business practices.

Re: Most likely BUT

I think Mr. Negrete is advertising if he is asking for agents in AZ. Anyone that has been fortunate enough to be called by Negretes, or newbies ..would to pay attention when he is asking for agents!! Please call me again!

Re: Is it advertising

Yep. The purpose of this site is ultimately to make money. We all know that.

(1) If you have a site which lists notaries for a profit (and you do) you are somewhat in competition with this site.

(2) If you are advertising here without having a signing service account you are getting a freebie.

(3) Advertising to one state or another doesn't appeal to the entire membership. I gave a cattle call for a Title company needing a notary in a small Texas town as a referral only (not making an $$ ss Fee) and it was ripped off. It's not just you...not personal...it is just the rule.

I disagree with this statement, in this instance. Tony, as far as I know, does not make his list available to the public, so he's not in competition with NotRot in that respect. And Harry, as far as I know, does not take in assignments and farm them out to agents in his list (e.g. acting like a signing service), so again, there's no competition between NotRot and Negrete's.

Re: Is it advertising - Paul

It doesn't matter what **we** think, what matters is what **Harry** thinks.

These were just items which might be the cause of Anthony's problem with having his posts removed.

for notaries. That is what this site is for.

Re: Is it advertising - Tony

Like I said, don't take it personal...I put a call out for a client of mine just to get a referral for them and it was removed within five minutes. I was not making money off of the referral. IMHO it's just a protective mode for them to keep the purpose of their site in place and to continue in the position they've worked so hard for...spent money to promote, etc.

Re: Is it advertising - Paul

I agree that Harry decides what is and what isn't. I was just stating that a signing service that offers the possibility of work for the individual members, isn't advertising any more than all the other posts that state "notary needed for Somewhere, tonight" the way it was done. Granted, if any SS continually blasted the same vanilla and vague advertisement time and time again, that should not be tolerated.

My point is that I was deleted for exactly that. A tc had called and asked me for help in locating a notary. I was deleted. No big deal. It's their rule...not mine.

Re: Is it advertising - Paul

If this is the case (and I must have missed it) my personal opinion (and I know that doesn't count for anything) is that your post should NOT have been deleted. Geez, I'm a prem member, I pay fairly good money here...personally I WANT to know if someone is in a bind and needs a notary. If I'm not in the area I don't bother reading the post...pretty simple.

I agree Sue

that this is what this board is all about -- getting more work from more people. PS Tony is great to work for.
