Re: Waco, TX, anyone? Hi Leonard...

NotaryRotary is probably going to find this post falls under advertising, "Most advertisements are not relevant to most users and are therefore wasted space."

Since you do not pay a membership fee and use the FREE membership you do not realize how you are ticking off those of us who DO pay. This is a forum which makes money on memberships by both notaries and hiring entities. They take that money and buy advertising for the NR database--all of us, not just YOU. When you use the forum to advertise for your own benefit you really are ignoring the rules.

There's no doubt there is a shortage of experienced notaries from here (Paradise aka College Station) all the way up Hwy 6 to Waco, the Crawford area, etc. I get calls for that corridor of country road all the time and try to refer people I know OR send the caller to NOTARYROTARY.com.

Please note that each time I get one of these calls for rural Texas, I don't advertise to try to set up a "satellite office" (think signing service wanting a notary) via using a free NR membershp to piggyback. With ads like yours you are hijacking onto NR's advertising dollars people like ME pay each year.

Advertising on a forum won't find you a notary in Waco, but you will pull in a few from the DFW area who are willing to drive south. Stop using the forum to advertise for your own specific gain. In other words, shell out some of your own marketing dollars and quit being lazy. Call the notaries who are listed here for Waco directly. There are five. Learn to market your services without riding NR's coat tails.

Re: Waco, TX, anyone?

Leonard I can see why you think you are offering an opportunity by this post. The truth is you are advertising just like Brenda says. Take it on board, call the people listed in that area and interview them. Do some of the work yourself.
Since your business has expanded BUY a Notary Rotary membership!!! Support this site.

Don't just do a "casting call". This ain't DreamGirls. j/k

Re: Waco, TX, anyone? Good advice!

I don't think this is being lazy. Just a good way to put an existing Notary to work that just might not be upto a self starter and would like a little more direction to get where they want to go. Some just like to follow and be paid along the way.

Premier Membership PAID - Good for you!

But you are still breaking the rules of this forum much like some of the others before you have. If you continue to ignore the rules my guess is you'll find out how serious they are about the non-advertising.

The main reason this forum is visited and utilized so well is because the members and forum moderators have kept ads off of it. Please be respectful of the entire community and not so focused on furthering your own agenda.

The great thing about NR is that you can put this kind of marketing for your signing service into your profile.

Then you contribute real notary info to the community--not just biz opps.

When you contribute true notary info people will naturally read your profile...but if you just keep posting ads Harry might just remove your privilege to post...

Okay, Leonard...I am off your back now. Whether you realize it or not, I am really giving you good info about marketing yourself and not just wanking on you. I just got a call from a title company looking for a notary and I am not even going to counter your endeavors by advertising and trying to set up a satellite office for the self-starting impaired. I referred them to a friend and if that doesn't work, then to NR.

I have personal matters to attend to in the Coupland/Elgin/Taylor area today...had to take a day off and won't be "policing" the forum from "the com"--see I can laugh at myself.) I think the drive might be really nice. I hear Huntsville's experiencing sunshine and birds singing. Mr. Sunshine is having trouble getting out of bed over here this morning.

Re: Premier Membership PAID - Good for you!

When Mrs Hughes called the office I did tell her she could fine someone locally to handle the job. She said she had worked with some notaries in the area on and off for a couple of years BUT was not satisified with the work nor felt that they were working in a prompt fashion. She got my name from a collegue (sp) out of Corpse Christi that has been using our office and was pleased with the service, pricing and attention to detail. She had offered a weekly retainer (use or lose) at a fair price. Her mileage pay was at 55 cents per mile. It is too far for me or even Larry at Lufkin so my best option was to offer it to someone who wants a steady check, some work and a chance to work under our insurances, phone plan and contacts, and at the same time NOT giving up too much. I don't need to get rich of this, but if that person wants to be covered under my companies plans I have to get something in return, Plus they would have to do it our way. That was the reason for the offer to anyone in the Waco area...She was will to give a 12 month contract, guaranteed. And to me that was Very fair. I never throw business away. But I look at all the options. This offer was, I feel, the best option. The price of the Premier Membership is half a business dinner. I paid my dues so try to be a little nicer when you post.

The issue is about following the rules not paying your dues

I. Advertising

Do not advertise your own products or services without prior approval. Most advertisements are not relevant to most users and are therefore wasted space.

Do not advertise competing websites, directly or indirectly, without prior approval. We spend thousands of dollars per month to advertise our service for your benefit. We would rather not be paying to advertise for the benefit of our competitors. This includes sites like 123 and goMobile.
