Michigan Surety Bond renewal
My commission is up in April and I've begun the renewal process. Many of the places I've seen online or those that I've called offer the bond but also offer a journal and E&O and other things that I already have or don't need.
Do any of you have a place that I can call to just get my bond and perhaps a new stamp?

Betsy, try your insurance man. He should be able to get you just the bond. Notary stamps can be acquired at any place that sells stamps. However, it may be just as cheap to go through one of the places here that specialize in the notary packages. I got a bond, E & O and a stamp for about $60 a year ago from the place in B. H. Any other questions, email me directly.

Technically.....
...we BTDT notaries don't renew our commissions, we have to start from scratch.
To answer your question, I go to a local mom and pop place, $50 for my bond and $10,000 worth of free E & O. Western Surity was down rated at the time I had to "renew" and they use a Safeco, I think.
I never wanted the freebies nor the crappy stamping stamps from the mailers that get sent out before our commissions expire. When I can I support my local businesses.
