NNA certification

I am not on the forum as often as I should be but I just got a surpirise from one of the escrow offices I work for. Quote" as of Jan 1 all notaries are to be Certified Loan Signers by the NNA" I was just wondering if anyone else has run into this?

Use the Orange search button and you will find a large amount of posts on this subject.

Re: NNA certification - nope. So far, so good!

Do a search on this. It's going to cost ya. Talk to them and see if you cannot figure out a way around it with them...for instance, promote the CBC that NR has.

Misinformation and a huge dose of hype. That's what the NNA would like to see...and like everyone to believe. But since when does the NNA make the laws in this country? Brenda's got it right. Do a search & be prepared to spend a lot of time reading.

I understand that it is not required by our particular state and I explained this to my ecrow officer. I just wondered if anyone has run in to this new NNA propaganda.
It looks to me like another way the NNA is trying to get thier hands in our pockets.
I am certified through a different company which this escrow company will except.

Make sure that you read the headers on this site re CBC

There is a product here that will provide third-party background certifications.

Do they want NNA certification or an NNA BGC?

It's two different animals, because the BGC wasn't added to certification until October. As far as I know, they're not decertifying (uncertifying?) anyone who passed prior to that but didn't do the BGC.

Not yet, anyway. But, don't give them any ideas...lol

DM You are a commissioned California Notary

You have already passed a background test. I have yet to be asked the question and I have yet to lose any work due to not having the NNA BGC. Read all the posts on the subject and also review Harry's plan.
