Non-payment by Coast to Coast Notaries
I am not a complainer and is rather patient. Actually, this is my first posting. Coast to Coast Notaries cannot be trusted on timely payment. I was doing occasional signings for them for several years and was not paid even once according to the terms of their agreement. Now I am waiting for payment done 12/01/06. And here is the message I have gotten from them after my numerous attempts to reach anybody there and telling them in my emails what I was going to do in this regard:
I'M SORRY FOR THE INCONVIENENCE, THE CHECKS FOR DECEMBER HAS NOT WENT OUT YET AND DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY ARE GOING TO BE SENT OUT SO YOU GO AHEAD AND DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO,AND I WILL BE SURE TO REMOVE YOU FROM OUR DATA BASE, IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS FILL FREE TO CALL ME. Thank you, GENEVIEVE Coast to Coast Notaries
I will never do another signing for them again and would not recommend you do it.

Why are you with them if they never paid on time in past? n/m

My experience with them is that they do pay, but expect it to be 90 days at the least. Though all my invoices are paid, I have since scratched them off my book as I notice the trend in their payroll. The checks were issued the following month of the signing, but never get mailed until another 30 days after.

Well, that is one of the most blatant displays of disregard for the notary in reference to a payment that I've seen. Note, that when these bad-paying companies call you to take the notary signing - they are not so forthright- they anxiously ask you to drop everything you're doing and take the signing. What they don't tell the unsuspecting notary is that they don't pay on time and you'll receive responses similar to the one above when you call in reference to "your check"
Go figure. Thank goodness for boards like these that keep us aware.

I am afraid there are several companies that are following the waiting games . They haven't paid yet and expect you do still do your job professionally. The banks employ these companies to work for them so where is the hold up. This is a first for me also I am truly disappointed.

I recall this company hanging up on me when I quoted a $200 fee for a signing an hour and a half away...I thought it was funny cause I really didn't want to go that far anyway.

What is interesting is that in the event one initiates a suit for collection against a delinquent ss, it would be routine procedure to subpoena the defendant's client (TC/Lender) and borrower as witnesses for both depositions and trial. It would also be routine procedure to subpoena the TC's/Lender's documents relating to the closing.
