Notary Express LLC
I am looking for information on this company. They are based out of Lebanon, TN.
I did a closing for them a while back and they paid within 30 to 45 days. Last night they called to do one i agreed she calls back (Rita) to say she would raise the fee an extra $25. becuse there would be some extra docs (not a piggyback or a 1st and 2nd) come to find out when i printed the docs it was 180 pages. She would not budge on the fee so I went ahead and went to the appointment late because they did not get the docs to me on time. The borrowers were upset about being late after going over the docs they decided they did not want to sign because there were too many blanks on the docs. I called Rita and told her she informed me that they will SEE about paying me a trip fee. Please someone tell me how should I handle this.

Bill her for the signing, you printed and you showed up. Paul has a form on his website for BO's that refuse to sign, it's great and when I come up against this situation I always have my BO's fill out and sign and I fax that with a copy of my invoice. Good news is they're in your same state, easier to deal with in case you need to seek legal action. Now then, having said that, IF you have a signed contract with them there could be some "legalese" in there that would include their fee in case of a no sign. Or they may have added something on their confirmation, check both closely to be sure you haven't previously agreed to something.

Thanks, I checked the contract and I didn't see anything about not closing. But I will check again.

Don't accept anything less than the full fee. It's too bad she took advantage of you on the extra docs, but the number of pages should have been clarified. As stated before, if the borrowers don't sign, it is making you an interested party, etc.

You'll need to toughen up or I predict you won't last long. Why should they pay you more if you are not going to require it?
I think it is a hoot when I hear someone express feeling like they have to go do a job just because they are pressured into it.
How about this...
Ring ring: Pizza Hut.
--Yeah, uh, I want a pizza ... whatever's on special.
=That's the medium one topping.
--Okay...how much?
=$12.50 plus tax.
--Great, bring it. Can you do me a favor and add one bread stick?
=No. We only do orders of three. That's another $3.99.
--Ah, come on. You already have my pizza order...can't you do me a solid on this? If you don't I'll call Gumby's. Don't make me eat Gumby's! I hate Gumby's.
=Yes...okay...we'll throw in a bread stick.
--Fine. Upgrade the pizza to a large and I'll add $1.
=Forget it @$#^%@^!! CLICK.
You better learn to do "click."
Pizza Hut doesn't let you call the shots...you need to stop letting SSs call the shots.

Your are right I have to get tough and I should have told her no thanks. But I didn't so I got taken. Since I accepted it I didn't feel I should go back on it. But I guess I will have to get a back bone and be tough. Like Ms. Brenda
