OT OT OT Something you don't see everyday

While driving to a closing today, I saw an American Bald Eagle. It was so exciting to see this great American Icon up close. It was flying rather low in a high traffic area before it perched in a tree. The first thing I noticed was a huge bird flying low, then I saw the white tail and white head. I feel so proud to have noticed it. Smile It a good day!

The American Bald Eagle is a sight to behold! We are very fortunate to live in Southwestern Idaho and the birds nest not too far from our home. I love driving by a local lake to see them. My parents live on the Snake River, which is also near us, and see them almost daily. Truly a magnificient bird to see. So glad that you got to enjoy it!!!

a beautiful site becca and i am so......

fortunate to be in south central wi where they winte. the wi river passes thru here and because of a power dam the waters are open all winter and so they do their fishing inthe area....it is quite a site to see them dip low and grab a northern or a walleye or what ever other kind may be swimming on that day with their huge talons and make for a perch in a tree. of course there are no leaves on the trees here in the winter so we can watch them eat. nature is a beautiful thing.

The Sandy River runs right behind our barn. I have the ocassional pleasure of watching them "fishing" the river. There is a website where you can watch a pair in their nest. They should be laying eggs in a few weeks. It's pretty neat to check in on them from time to time. I especially like the eaglet watch!

You won't see the eagles right now, only the storm.

Wonderful sight! Where did you see it? The only place that I have really seen one is by Cape Canaveral. Beautiful bird!

I saw the Bald Eagle in Vero Beach, on Rt 60 right across the street from the Indian River Mall. I've seen the nests out west on 60 by Lake Kissimmee, but had never seen an Eagle, until today.

Wow! It was so kewl.

Thanks, for letting me share.

Re: wow fantastic! Last summer I had a garden party and the

I live in Wetern Wisconsin , a little further north from Dick. I am right by the Mississippi river. I have seen them following tractors plowing grabbing up rabbits I think. I have also seen them warming themselves on pile of cow manure. Of course you can go down and watch them fish on the rivers too!
The reason I bring up the manure pile is that on 9/11 I saw 4 of them sitting on a maure pile. The farmer probably cleaned his spreader out there. They were all facing wach other in a circle. I tried not to read to much into that.

We were blessed to have that beautiful bird make his home here last winter. Traffic was pulled over every morning for the entire month. I took some great pics of him.
