Querry!

My computer went South- Lost every thing, and of course nothing backed-up-

My fault completely for not doing so.

It's back up and running now , however my "Easy Bankruptcy Book Keeping
System" is gone. It worked real well for me.

50 State Notary apparently has sold their Lawyers Assistant part of the company, and this CD and program went along.

(That part does not seem to be available any more from what I can find out.)

Question: Does anyone have this CD, that I can borrow, to get it back in my computer?

I would buy it, or loan it, and send it right back upon installing it. Will gladly pay postage.

My Original CD is gone as well, turned up every nook and cranny in my office area. (Might have fallen off the desk and into my trash can) That's the only explanation I can figure for it's disappearance.

You can e-mail me, or call me, if you can assist me.

Thank you in advance,

Happy in Fl!

Ooops, looks like 30-day trial is free

Sorry, it looks like that particular software is only free as a 30-day trial, and $50 if you decide to keep it.

Backups - 2 hard drives helps

I have 2 hard drives on both of my computers and do "lazy" backups by just moving important files from the main hard drive to the secondary hard drive a couple of times a week to keep them backed up and fairly current. Then once a month or so I burn CDs with the most recent updates of critical files. It saves having to burn a CD every time you do just minor updates to files. I believe it is highly unlikely that both hard drives would crash and burn at the same time.
There's one database I have that has been created, refined, changed, revised and updated continuously over the past 10 years, with some 1200+ entries, and the mere thought of losing it would send me into a blue funk for a month as it would take at least a month of all day every day work to maybe recreate the majority of it. Scary! So every time I update it, I just move the updated version to the second hard drive to replace the older saved version there, and then burn a CD once a month.
If any of our resident computer gurus have additional or better suggestions, please share them. Thanks!

***I believe it is highly unlikely that both hard drives would crash and burn at the same time.***

A good enough power surge or it might just happened that both drives reached their life cycle at the same time, you'd never know.

I won't go into details as how to efficiently set up a fail proof system, but I'd highly recommended an external hard drive as way of keeping a backup. It's not expensive and HD comes in all forms and shapes now a day.

A connected internal HD is always powered, therefore will reach it's life cycle as expected. Not only that, your system power supply also work harder to provide that extra power. Most/all external drives have their own power supply and are only power up when need so they would last much longer and it's much safer.

Re: Backups - 2 hard drives helps

Thank you "ndwa and Sharon" for the reply. Sharon , appreciate your doing the Google Search, didn't think of that at all.

Lawyers Assistasnt Site, I did see, but not this item needed.

Yes that is the one I want, and downloaded the Demo fine, hit the button to say, I "want to purchase it", and the whole thing goes back to Lawyers Assistant Site, with no place or button to order it from. Of course no contact phone numbers given or e-mail address given.

Will keep trying and thank you so much.

My Doctor, while I visited him, told me his Computer crashed once. but he went to a second drive as well.

He found a program called "RAID", and installed it with second drive, now he can automatically send to back-up drive, info that he wants saved on a "daily bases- weekly bases- bi-weekly or only items needing back-up monthly".

Has any one heard of this program, if so, any comments?

I use Windows Live Care to back up. I bought an external drive and it's great for that. It backs up all your files.

Hi, Not-So-Happy.

Who did you talk to at 50 State Notary? The company split recently with a lot of acrimony on both sides, so neither is willing to talk about the other.

If you talked to Victoria Ring, call Gerrie Pierre-Fleurimond at 732.553.0654, Fax 732.553.0330.

If you talked with Gerrie, call Victoria Ring at 614-875-4496, Cell 614.208-8168, Fax 614.355.0184.

One of these professionals should be able to help you track down a copy of your program.

I am not surprised, would love to hear the gossip about that separation.

Re: Query! VERY interesting, Marlene.

Don't share gossip, only facts.

Invite me to a pajama party sometime, offer me some good red wine, no telling what you'll hear.

Sorry, could not let that "querry" go through on another post. My father paid for my degree in English, would be proud to know I'm using it!

Re: Announcing: The Florida NSA Network 1st Annual Pajama Pa

I could stand some Florida weather about now - 0 degrees this morning, not counting wind chill factor. I wish they had never come up with wind chill factor, it just makes me think I'm colder than I probably am.
