SignaturesPlus payments

Most of us know Signatures Plus reputation and their notarious non-payment to us. I took some great advice from someone on the board to report them to the FTC. I contacted an atty too and he advised the same, Atty General and FTC. Also, since most of their business comes from the Home Loan Center, I reported them as well. Some may argue that the HLC does not have anything to do with it but they still contract SP to do their work, which we notaries do and know full well they don't pay us. The 60 day won't fly since my contract has 30 days with SP. The one time I did get paid, it took 6 months, so 60 days is bogus. I realize my error, I felt compassion one day to even accept SP signing. Has any California (Irvine area) notaries gone to SP to receive their checks or thown eggs at them for non-payment! I'm trying to heave moose poop from Alaska to their office as we speak. Of course that isn't allowed, don't actually try this.

I've never worked for Signatures Plus but , after reading all the posts here & previous experience w/SOX I did get curious & looked up SignaturesPlus.com on my 'whois' link & it says the 'administrative contact' for Signatures Plus is a person named Stacy Gordon who appears to be head of RMI Insurance in California. Her email address is listed as [e-mail address] . The website for RMI Insurance ( http://www.rmiinsurance.com ) shows they're CA Dept of Insurance id number, ect. (The address for Signatures Plus & RMI Insurance is also the same: both listed as 220 Technology; #110 ; Irvine, Ca 92618 ).

In addition to insurance products, they seem to have a number of financial products that they are selling (Certified Financial Planning, ect). Maybe the Dept of Insurance might be another place to lodge a complaint, with appropriate copies forwarded to Ms. Gordon.

This is just a thought.... I surely do want these non-paying SS's to honor they're commitments to NSA's , & then get out of the business just as SOX should so!

Thank you for that information. I agree, if the SS companies cannot pay us for a job we completed, then the SS should get out of the business but also we should be able to lodge complaints to the proper authorities.
I'm just trying to shove them a little closer to the door and I appreciate all the places to start.

SP took 120 days plus to pay me for a signing. I say that all notaries who have had trouble band together to lodge a complaint against them. It is utterly ridiculous to take that long. the may not hear one of usbut surely they will listen to all of us.

"the may not hear one of usbut surely they will listen to all of us."

Wishful thinking. They know exactly what they're doing and they don't care in the least what we think. They know there is a never ending supply of dumb newbies who will do signings for them because they don't know any better. And by the time that group wises up there will be a new group to choose from.

And anyone who does a signing for them knowing their reputation, but doing it anyway because they feel "sympathy" for them deserves the headaches they get. Dumb decisions have consequences.
