The new Signing Service *profiles*... ahem

Is anyone else peeved that lazy new Signing Agents are advertising themselves as Nationwide Signing Services?

What the heck is wrong with *some* of the newbies nowadays? Nobody wants to take the time to learn to play baseball before they try to coach a team... it's disgusting. I was just reading a post from Larissa and I'm totally apalled that now we have people pawning themselves off as Signing Services when they haven't even learned how to be Signing Agents?

The problem wasn't rocket science... the fee was waaayyy too low... and the thought process was juvenile. If this person had any EXPERIENCE... the problem wouldn't be so hard. They would have learned by now to read the directions and do their job... they would know how to handle the BS contracts that get sent out... duh.

Don't get me wrong... if the question came from a newbie encountering a problem and trying to learn... hey... no problem. But this person is advertising themself as a Nationwide Signing Service. That's a problem in my book.

Yep.

There's nothing worse than trying to work for a "signing
service" run by a greenhorn who has not a dang clue.

So true. Someone with a 'get-rich-quick' attitude of this business (laced with nothing less than entitlement issues) who doesn't even respect it enough to learn it... is NOT someone I want to work for or with.

Some, not all, notaries who got into this business from the NNA Hype find they cannot make it as a signing agent and believe the money is in the signing services side, so they become signing services. They haven't the capital to pay the signing agents if they don't get paid for any reason, and have no idea what they are doing. They think they can get a call from a lender or title company for a signing and just pick up the phone and outsource it to another signing agent. Big bucks for a couple of minutes work - NOT!

I noticed when GA became an attorney only state several new signing services popped up out of the blue.

Good reason you never see any of my signing agents badmouthing my signing service on here is that I was successful as a signing agent long before I started my signing service and I have always treated them as I expect to be treated, courteously, no illegal requests and prompt payment. Plus I am able to answer any questions they have on the docs.

It's a darn shame you only operate in FL.

I prefer it that way LawrenceSmile
I do get calls for other states, in those cases I will find the signing agent and put the title company in touch with them so they can work direct.

Based on what I just read about this person, I wouldn't mind having that kind of competitions on the signing service side.

Hi! I asked for help and you are trying to judge! I used my name because I have nothing to hide and I shared my problem with all of you. You don't know me, don't know anything about my experience, my company but you really know that I am not the one who can have company, who does not work hard, does not have experience. Why? I got a lot of responds from the people who really do care and gave good advices and I really appriciate their wish to help. Thank you.

I believe the term I'm looking for is "Due Diligence"...

Yes, Larissa I am judging.

By offering yourself as a Nationwide Signing Service you should have the EXPERTISE and KNOWLEDGE to do the job. You shouldn't be asking the questions you are asking. You came on here for help that you wouldn't need if you had taken this industry seriously and spent some time in the trenches... or at least studied the trenches. You have NO BUSINESS coming here for help on simple stuff at *your advertised level*. You are taking the Lender's and the SA's time and money into your hands and you seem to think it is no big deal... well, it is a big deal.

I'm all for free enterprise and the American dream. By all means... do your homework, save your money and open a real signing service. I'm sure you'll do great. But until then... don't come on here with excuses and questions and expect the red carpet.

I am sorry that I inferred that you were lazy. I don't know you and I don't know if you are lazy or not. What I do know is that getting into something without doing the homework required to do it right SO THAT YOU DON'T NEGATIVELY IMPACT OTHERS INVOLVED IN A VERY LARGE FINANCIAL TRANSACTION... is very IRRESPONSIBLE.

OT...

Thank you. God bless you too!

God also instructed that leaders in a church should have a certain amount of experience so that they are equipped for their positions. It's pretty much the same concept.

God would probably tell me to be a little kinder in my delivery though... It was not my intention to slaughter the message as well as the recipient... I guess I'll have to work on that. This business can be pretty tough though Larissa, and I'm actually giving you good advice. So however much you don't like what I said... you still have a responsibility to do your homework.
