What's with all the...

"notary listing" services now? Is that where this industry is going? Yikes!
I keep getting emails such as the following lately. I'm not impressed as I feel that there are plenty of listing sites already. Pretty soon there will be more listing sites than notaries!
My .02

>>>>>Notary Phone Book is a new web site that has customized Google Maps to the notary public profession. Lenders and signing companies are soon going to discover the ease of use of our site and how much better it is for finding notaries all over the country. Which means we are looking for notaries like you to sign up. We are offering you an introductory offer of $29.99 for 1 year. That is a whole year of us advertising your services. <<<<<

What I love, is all these companies expect us to pay the fee, when they are not established with any large companies. Most TC and siging services already have their data base. Now if they offered a free listing until they got the TC and others interested that would be another thing, but they want us to pay for their struggling venture.

I suspect that its notaries who couldn't hack it in the...

notary business because they thought it was a cool and easy way to make a furtune but filed to amke a business plan. Now the are trying another cool business that is easy to get into and again failed to do a business plan. Soon they will be aout of business too.

Yep. Got -another- spammy email from the LowerFees people -

again with the wrong "listing info," soliciting my $. Again requested to be removed from their database, to which they responded they did (again.)

Sheesh.

I have three listings. As far as I am concerned they are the only ones that matter.

Getting a little annoying is it not ! Each and every day there's a load of those darn things. Talk about low pay ! Ha! Like Brenda I only advertise on a few sites, the ones' that actually do you some good. You sure could waste a lot of money on the rest.

If they are not doing to well as a notary, they might want to start to get a little creative and think of Something else to do instead of "Beating a dead horse."
