background check

If I have a clearance certficate from Association of Professional Notaries and Certified Signing Agents for a back ground clearance for 2006/2007, do I need to do another screening?
It states that when you are initally commissioned, you are already background screened and fingerprinted throught the state of california. What more do they want?

Sadly, most signing companies want us to have "their" background checks. Another profit margin I think. Yes, we were screened to become Notaries and I was screened to do work with a city police department with full access to all their information and they still wanted another check. Additionally, I am now finding it really is not required of Notaries only the lenders!!!

Wow, do they charge individually? I find it hard to believe there isn't a standardized procedure.

Especially when I haven't had 100% ability collecting from the signing companies. They should be doing the screening. Ha.
