reflecting over tea leaves...

The lender wanted to close that day, the borrower that wanted to close at work and the schedule he was under made many people's day change, ever so slightly. Fumbling around for a phone to meet my new challenge, it starts beeping at me with another one for Wednesday. Fine, I write it down on the back of a loose business card. Rearrange the next few hours and proceed with my day.
Printing docs in the morning for a morning appointment and trying to figure out how to work the rest of this jigsaw puzzle today. A call first thing backdate? "No".
Back to the present, someone throws in a few curve balls like....kids, eating, you know, the usual stuff. Never stopping to think about anything, I proceed with my day. Trying to eek out two Tuesdays didn't work, people kept telling me it was Wednesday!

A busy day, a few appointments, not 'obstacle course' like yet.
Up scratching my head this morning....In between tossing and turning, did I dream I had accepted another signing???
OK, looks like I still have three. I'm not going there with this day.
I It was a like an auction, Can I get 4? Can I get 3? Can I save one? Wound up closing two and felt like a dog-haired muddy punching bag as I hobbled in that night. Ate cake....lots of it!
Reflected on the people and the situations I had gone thru, I have GOT to do some more advertising - I think I'll start a Spring campaign!

Now it's Thursday. Living large that morning being super Mom and notary extrodiniare, printing docs faster than the speed of light. Lining up the day. I have four confirmed and a few maybes' for later. Somehow this day went unhitched. I only noticed it was going well because I was fixated on Friday being nightmare day and if I could just get by it to Saturday, I'd be happy. One more call comes in..."do this tonight" I say what's the max fee you are authorized to pay for the same day EOM? "Anything you need"...well, allllrighy then! Take the towel off my head to do something with wet hair that had basically dried and stuck straight up. Throw a hairband around it and viola! back to doc printing.

Friday morning afternoon, and evening until 10:30 pm was an utter blur. I was in robot motion/mentality and moving thru my day like Grace under fire with pure elegance. Only swearing 42 times, and mostly just at drivers on the road...in my way...talking on phones....
To all of you that do this and juggle the way we must...cheers!

There are so many times I silently say to myself "and I thought I've seen everything."

Hope it's hairy for you too! Smile

I prefer to reflect over spirits

but that's just my preference.... have a great day.

Jeez... 10AM Monday morning and I'm already thinking about boozing it up.
Five more years in this business and I'm gonna have to add AA to my professional membership list.... lol.

Glad to hear I was not alone. I put in a 40 hour work week in three days. The nice thing about it was that in the three days of hell, I did not experience one nasty person, not a one. The two refusals I had were the nicest no-signs I have ever encountered.
