Adobe 8... need to be educated
Am about ready to go back to 7 over this issue. But, gee, Adobe 8 has some nice features! 1. Is it at all possible to have BOTH 7 & 8 on your computer and just pick which one you want? (I don't think I want to hear this answer.) 2. Problem: With Adobe 8, on many files I've received, the page thumbnails just are NOT available. As I'm running a single tray printer (HP1200) & must switch letter/legal paper, this is a major problem & royal PITA. I've poked around trying to see if this is some setting that I have to 'fix'... but it doesn't seem to be anything I can fix. It's just the way they were sent. Once I got something called 'bookmarks' along the left side...which was a 'blob' with the first couple words of a doc showing. Better than nothing, but not by much. 3. Also (is this a printer setting maybe?) IF I just 'print on legal' the letter-size docs are centered in the middle of the page & don't start at the top. Can this be fixed so they start at the top of a page? Any gurus out there that can help?

Lee I cannot answer what you are asking but when I ran a single tray i just reduced the page to 41% and then it showed if letter or legal as i quickly scanned the pages....
then I got a printer w/ a double trays....

Good thinking, Zee...
I should have thought of that. Thanks. It's a workaround.

Also when you go to file and to print - when the page pops up that asks you whether you want the whole package or a certain page there is a box that you can un-check that rotates and centers the image. When you un-check that box you should be able to print on all legal with the image in the correct place.

1. No can do 2. Not sure what is meant by "page thumbnail", but if you put the cursor at bottom left of the page you're viewing, it will show the page size letter or legal. Unless I'm the pdf publisher, otherwise everything on the left pane is just in the way. 3. If printing LTR on LGL, make sure you un-check the box label "auto rotate/center" & "choose paper source by pdf size" in the printer dialogue window.
Hope that help

Page Thumbnails...
...I couldn't figure out after I initially installed Adobe 8 how to make the thumbnail feature work either. The problem is that Adobe 8 defaults to the "Reading Mode" when it's first installed. Go to "View" & uncheck "Reading Mode". The thumbnail icon will appear at the top of the page on the left hand side. Click on it & you'll see the pages with the thumbnails down the left hand side.
