Set up your computer to receive faxes and you can print them to your laser - save money, one less piece of office equipment.

Brother MFC-7420 Re: All in 1

Went from a $350+ Samsung CLP-500 (color) to a $149 all-in-1 Brother MFC-7420 (b/w). The all-in-1 in unbelievably faster and does it all letter/legal size, copies, scans, faxes, prints. Good sound investment

Hope this helps.

Brother MFC 8860

This is the best printer I have owned: previous HP 1200 & 1300 and they were also great.

The Brother MFC 8860 prints 30 pages per minute and is the best laser printer I have ever owned. Buy it at Costco for $399.

MFC means it: prints, scans, copy, fax

Have you considered 'scan and email' in the alternative?

Check out the HP 8250 with Auto Sheet Feeder, for example, for copies too.

John
Do you have 2 trays on the 3055?

Re: All in one.

The 3055 has one tray -250 sheet legal or letter size, and a hot tray above that feeds 20 or less. I have no problems with loan printing, just break them down and switch paper accordingly.

Fax/Scanner

Get one that faxes and scans to your pc. Then you can send a scanned document back. Sometimes a standalone fax is good. YOu can print one page off the pc and be faxing back with the other.

Otherwise, I like my MFC Brother 8220. Legal/Letter/Scan/Fax workhorse.
