Another way to earn money?

I just came across this company and wondered if any of you had heard of it or been involved with it. It looks very interesting and goes right along with what we are doing as signing agents. The reason it looks so interesting is it is trying to save people from foreclosure…. And with a lot of the loans I have seen lately lots of people are going to need it. I have looked over the website and it looks pretty good so far. The training looks good, and the payment plan looks real good. If you know anything about this company please let me know.
I am going to try it, just because it doesn’t cost anything to get started and I don’t have anything to lose.
If you want to take a look here’s the address: http://consolidatedsg.com/billwallender/bz

With the downturn in the real estate market this could be a great way for those of us that are full time notaries to supplement our incomes.

Have a great day!
Judy

PS I am cross posting this on other forums because if there are negatives with this company I want to know as soon as possible.

Haven't heard about it...but I'll check it out...thanks for starting this thread because "I" just got an 'opportunity' and I wanted to run it by my fellow "notarians" (viva la notary)

the email stated "...Let me introduce myself. I am Californian Notary Public and I work with a firm American Corporate Services, Inc. We are looking for responsible stable person in State of Nevada to provide some part-time secretarial services for our Company. It could take up to 1 hour per week, not more. Please, respond if you are interesting to receive more information.

Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Dr. Gregory Finkelson

American Corporate Services..." (I'm leaving out his website for now)

I checked out the company online with the state of CA and it is listed in San Francisco with the address he later provided me. It shows it has been incorporated since 2001. My question is...

has anyone else heard from this guy? Is this legit?....or do I run away as fast as possible and tell an adult or policeman? Thanks for the insight y'all (a little Texas lingo for my sister in Texas)

Sorry, but my BS meter is pinging on this one... I've seen ads for stuff like this on Craigslist, and it just doesn't smell right....

If you look at the list of "company benefits", it just screams SCAM - "3 replicated websites... free foreclosure leads... voicemail and fax number...." I think you'll just be attempting to sell snake oil and paying someone else for the privilege to do so.

And quite honestly, I'm wondering if you're not just here trolling for dummies - a search on your name indicates that this is your first post, so we have no idea who you really are.

No Doc, havent seen anything of the like. Do you know exactly what they are looking for? Again, not enough info for me. If its legit, good for you. Some extra cash and something else to add to your resume. Good luck.

Re: Can I get any help on the site I indicated on my reply to

Thanks...if you go to the website, the have a service which includes mail forwarding...what they would want me to do is receive the mail (I guess be a mail drop)...forward it to them in San Francisco once a month (up to 100 pieces)...(they supply a check for the postage...in addition to being paid in advance every three months...). It's not a great money maker...about $20 per month). The only thing I was worried about is that my wife (who is a SeneGence distributor) was just scamed by a person in England who alleged to purchase a large quantity of her cosmetics. She forward a check allegedly drawn on a U.S. bank for MORE than the amount of the order...asked my wife to cash the check and then return to her the additional funds via Western Union. We, of course were sceptical (this is becoming rampant in this area as people try to get something for nothing)...so we took the check to the bank (It was drawn on US Bank out of Texas...I forget the city)...they checked it out and the routing number was bogus. Needless to say, we left the check and all correspondence with the bank for their investigators to handle. So, I'm a little hesitant...this person contacted ME, alleging to be a Notary Public from CA (I assume they got my name from either here or XYZ). That's why I'm asking if anyone else got information....

Thanks again in advance. 'Doc'

Doc, not being privy to the website, and from your description, dealing with "100" or so pieces of mail throughout the month, shlepping to the Post Office, for $20? It's not worth it. Besides, you don't know where that mail has been. Wink

Doc

Let me begin this by saying that I know NOTHING of this company.

Let me also say that Nevada has some of the most protective and flexible corporate laws and many companies will incorporate there for the ease and financial savings involved. Nevada also has certain disclosure laws that protects shareholders and blah blah blah.

When you choose to incorporate in Nevada and do business in another state you need a corporate agent in Nevada for service of process. There are many companies that provide this service. They will help you incorporate and be your Nevada agent for service of process for a set fee per year. It IS legal and many many people use this service because they don't want to hold an actual office in the state. The service involves filing things with the state and mail forwarding and from the sound of the company you describe... it seems like it could be the same thing.

Here's a link to a company that does what I am talking about... there are a bunch of them.

http://www.thenevadacompany.com/

I don't know if it is worth the money or headache... but I do know that if it is what I am talking about... it is legal.

Hope it helps.

Has anyone looked into the company?

Here's how I see it... if the company is legitimate it is a way to earn a good income.
I do not have the knowledge to do a background check on a company. Some of you must.

I absolutely love being a Signing agent. I love the flexibility of my schedule.
This opportunity I can work around my schedule. Maybe I am trying to talk myself into it because it looks so good on the surface. I look at like this, people think being a notary is easy… yeah right. It is hard to get started in this business. I have run into lots of people that are licensed notaries… that have given up. You must have the right personality to be successful as a notary. Then there are periods when the calls just aren’t coming in the way they should be to put food on the table. My late December and first half of January were absolutely slow. Almost forgot what the inside of my car looked like.

Anyhow I was reading the posts before this and people were talking about this could be a scam… if they do what they say they are doing why would it be a scam? It is a legitimate product. Not only that, is a much-needed product… all you notaries know exactly what I am talking about. Balloon payment mortgages, interest only loans, arms have not kicked in yet thankfully the interest rates have stayed low.
That does not even include people maxing out their homes through refi’s and HELOC’s.

Does this company really help people get out of trouble financially? If yes it is a good thing.
How do you check out this company? Call the owners… there must be a phone number, they want to talk to people, that is the whole purpose of putting up a website like that.
How long have they been in business? Have they had other businesses? Who are they affiliated with? They must be working with banks and financial institutions.
How do we find out if the company is legitimate? Do we ask them for references?
It deserves looking into. As I get the time I will be definitely looking deeper. I really like working from home type work.

Someone mentioned that they wanted you to advertise on Craig’s list… personally I think that is a great idea… they have lot’s of traffic. You want to advertise where people will see it. Craig’s list is probably free or close to it and has tons of people visiting it.

Anyhow I listened to their presentation on what the company is about and how we fit in.
I does not sound hard, but you probably need the right type of personality to make it work. The same way you created a successful notary business.
Wonder if they have a notary network?
Sorry, I am starting to ramble on… it is late here, and the end of the month rush started today for me.

I am very interested in any input any of you can find on this company, good, bad, or otherwise. Because I can do that business, and I really want it to be true.

No comment on Mikes observation huh????

Just where did you come from?
To me, you sound like you know just enough to try to pass as an nsa, while you try to sell us on this "Great" opportunity. Sorry, not buying.
BTW, I like to think of myself as commissioned rather than licensed.
Snake oil is a good term here.

It's a little tricky, but I see what's going on... (long)

If you've actually signed up with them, you get your own page. For example:

http://consolidatedsg.com/judylong

gets you to her page - and you know this, because there's her contact info in the upper right hand corner. She gets credited with all referrals coming from her page, and even the "Contact Us" form allows you to send her email. It works that way for all their "agents" - I was able to find several with a google search. She doesn't really have to do anything other than figure out ways to drive people to her site. If this is some sort of MLM pyramid (and I think it is), anyone who signs up as an agent from her site would go into her downline.

Any other bogus name in that URL will send you to the top of the pyramid. That is probably what you saw when you checked your own name. For example:

http://consolidatedsg.com/elmerfudd

gets you to the page owned by a Susan Ritchie. If you check the contact us page, you'll see she works for CGS - even though the home page says she doesn't. They probably did that so that if someone drops out and you click on what is now a dead link (because stuff on the internet seems to live forever), you'll still get directed to the mother ship...

Just seems too devious to me to be a legitimate "business opportunity".
