Beggars

Last week, I had to get a couple of papers signed by a borrower. She just jumped in my car for a minute to sign them. While she's signing, a beggar walks up to the passenger side window, knocks on the window, and asks for a handout. We both politely tell him that we're in the middle of an important transaction and couldn't help him at the moment. What happens? He gets mean, rude, and indignant. And I'm thinking, "amazing, a beggar with an bad attitude. He won't get far." Hmmm. Reminds me of some of our weekly newbies.

Re: Beggars - Hello form sunny / warm FL! Aaron

How very vain and presumptive of you to think that Al was directing his comments to you and you alone. I've got news for you genious, Al (and others on this board) could not care less about you. You DO think the world revolves around you, don't you?

Get a grip, dude!

Welcome to NotRot, Aaron!

You've just been initiated into the "Newbie Hall of Shame" & believe it or not...you're not the first! There are an anointed few on this board who feel it's their civic duty to perform this rite of passage on any new poster who dares to show some spunk. Now that you know who your "friends" are on the board you can move on to bigger & better things...like learn this business. Based on the moxie you've shown so far I think you'll do just fine. Go get 'em!

I didn't read Al's post as being directed at Aaron or anyone in particular.

It Isn't Much of a Stretch...

...to connect Al's message #172524 to his initial post in this thread.

It's a 100% true story.

I'm not making it up to make my point, but it certainly parallels what we see here. The Aaron's of the notary world show up here every day. It's not about him anymore than it's about any of the umpteen clueless geniuses who demand that you tell them how to run a business and throw temper tantrums when you don't. Yeah, that'll get you the answers you seek. "Hi, I want some pin money so little Elroy can go to San Fernando Valley Private School for the Parentally Challenged, this should be easy, right? Just I.D. and sign, no one's curing cancer or anything. Nothing to be taken seriously. What do you mean you won't tell me how to price my business!!?? You're all jerks! You're afraid of my competition (even though I don't actually know a thing about what I'm doing and there's one notary for every cockroach in California)." We see a variation on this theme a gazillion times a week. Honestly, I think sunny California is frying their brain cells. Or is it too much Mary J. Wanna? Maybe our friends at XYZ should add drug testing to their BGC. That should thin out some of these beauty school dropouts.
