Brother printer worth buying
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this printer. Available at Costco, two tray Brother printer. If you have feedback good or bad I would greatly appreciate it. I very much need a dual tray printer. Thank you.

I have the 5250DN and I love it. It's extremely fast and I haven't had any problems with it. The only thing I did to it, was increase the memory. The memory it came with couldn't handle some of these huge loan packages.

Thanks Stacey. Call me simple, but when you say increase memory you mean on the computer itself and not the printer, correct?

No. I actually took the memory card out of the side and put a new card in. It only came with like 32MB and now I have 256MB. My husband is a computer geek. He took care of it for me.

Call Brother 800 number ask them how you reset the memory. I have a Brother MFC-8440 it is excellent. Everytime the memory depletes, I reset it.

There are also reviews on other printers as well.
I currently own a Brother 8025DCP Flat-bed (legal size) printer. Purchased it (refurbished)December, 2005, via Brothermall.com. (Has the same 3 year warranty as a new one).
Love it!

I recommend the Brother MFC 8860 from Costco
It prints (30 pages per minute) also fax, scan and copy.
Just a fabulous machine for $399. One additional feature I like is when it truly runs out of toner it stops printing. I had shook the toner cartridge when on the face of the printer it stated was "low on toner" and then it stopped completely stopped when it was bone dry!!
It also duplexes which is great when you feel confident enough to print the borrower's copy front and back.

Joan, When do you actually feel confident enough to duplex the bo's copy? Most of the time it's a simple thing like bo accidently writing the wrong date or signing a different name etc, that any borrower can do. How can we be confident they won't do that? Out of curiosity, do most of the experienced SAs print the bo's copies in duplex? I am a newbie and still print each of the 200 page doc on one side only.

I have a 5140 and love it. I have 5 printers (3 brother and 2 HP) the only problems I have had are with the HP's. The Brothers are work horses, better on toner than HP. That price is great if that has two trays for that price

I never do duplex because...
its not worth it. The paper you are saving will end up in another possible trip. And that's not because you screwed up but the borrowers can sign i the wrong place. But if that works for someone that's great.
