Com' on Marylanders...

Please, pleeeeease STOP taking e-docs for a lousy $100!!!! You're killing me!!!

Shame on Lenders First Choice...Tried to get me to do $100 edocs tonight in Silver Spring, 20904 area. Said I'd get a lot more business if I dropped my fees. I used to do a lot through them, via signing services AND through them directly. I was paid between $125-150 for a single. Now they are trying to cut out the ss AND low ball us at the same time. She tried to convince me that 10 signings at $100 each was supposed to cover my "extra" expenses for licensing, continueing ed, bonding, insurance, etc. in Maryland.

GIVE ME A BREAK will you!??!!! The cost of living around here is high enough as it is. $100 edocs wouldn't cover it EVEN IF it didn't cost me a dime to be licensed!!!

Good Grief. Enough already. Stand up for yourselves and JUST SAY NO!!! Demand higher compensation, will you!??!!

(sorry for the rant)

Full time job during day

When you have a full time job during the day, you can afford to do these e-doc signings at night for 60, 80 or $90. I agree, $100 for an e-doc signing for a full time signing agent is a slap in the face. I turn these down quite often, but for someone who can do a couple of these at night, it is probably doubling what they made during their 8-hour day job.

So do you have day rates and night rates?

I also don't think that $100 for a simple 60 or so page refi is a slap in the face. If I can go and have every thing wrapped up in an hour, I don't think $100.00 is that bad. I will agree with you though that a $50.00 edoc signing is not going to happen for me.

Re: So do you have day rates and night rates?

I've never had a 60-page refi. Always 110-125 page is the least amount. My rate changes after 9:00 pm and also after 10:00 pm. What made me raise my rates about 2-3 yrs ago was when I accepted the signing with the lower fee, I was having to turn down companies who would pay a much higher fee. I will always negotiate if need be, but I also won't accept below a certain amount. It's that working smarter not harder thing!!

Re: So do you have day rates and night rates?

I was, recently, offered a fee of $45 plus $15 for e-docs for a signing. What an insult! Do these low-ball signing companies realize that we are, most of the time, making an extra trip out to Fed Ex or UPS to mail the docs. This is done the next day because, the majority of my signings are at night. The closest Fed X or Ups to me is about 10 miles away. How can anyone make a profit doing these $60 signings??????????

Re: Full time job during day

No way.... after you figure in your actual expenses to go out in the evening to do a couple $60 signings I guarantee you have dipped into your "day job" net income.

Regardless of whether or not you have a full time day job

and do the cheapo signings.... there is no profit... unless you are printing at your full time day job and all you have is time and gas....then a teensy profit....

so come on have a spine, have some integrity, have some professionalism.... charge a fee that is relavent to reality.....
