E-Docs
I would like to know how you feel about receiving E-Docs. I was sent "E-Docs" which was actually a copy of faxed documents. To make a long story short, the lender's fax machine did not pick up all of the required docs nor did she send a check list of what docs I should have received. I completed the signing, went to Fed Ex Saturday morning (which was 30 miles away from my house) so that she could have the signed docs on Monday morning instead of my normal Fed Ex pickup on Monday. Monday afternoon she calls me yelling about missing docs....mind you the docs she was complaining about never came through and made me feel horrible. I really doubt I will ever work with E-docs without a check list of docs I should have received. Any comments????

LAT E-Docs.. because their always LATE! Anything can go wrong and you are on your own. Notaries that can successfully handle the e-doc nightmare are put on a special list that is circulated around the industry and are forced to endure last minute requests till eternity.

My thought is you'll have plenty of time for other pursuits
Why not e-mail back what she sent to you, stating here's what you sent. Then ask what part did I miss in the signing? It should become clear that the mixup is on her end and at that point state your fee for fixing this error. As to give up on edocs, I believe that's not a really good decision, but it's your business do as you like.

ADS - reading your profile - and your website, you appear to be a signing service (you mention your employees), yet from your question you don't appear to be too familiar with edocs, which most signing agents who have been in this business long are very familiar with.
But, having said that, from your message it appears you received edocs that were just copies of faxed documents. Most times when I have received edocs that were previously faxed docs, they have been just the "junk docs" and not the whole loan package. How many pages did you get?

I'm interested to know what was missing from the package you received. If you've done enough loan from many different lenders, you'd most likely know when a package is less or missing something.

I find E-Docs are no more hassle than waiting and hoping for the overnight service to get the package to you the next day. Just different. I frequently get extra business because the notary they called before me cannot or will not download the docs.
"I was sent "E-Docs" which was actually a copy of faxed documents."
I was called to complete a signing a few days ago where the notary only took the last minute docs that were indeed faxed (The HUD, some additional escrow instructions and the 1003) and did not go to the appropriate website to download the main body of the loan docs. Could this be what happened here? I too would be curious on what documents were missing. No matter who the lender, most loan packages are virtually the same (depending on the type of loan, some don't have RTC's for example) and with experience you will get a feeling when something is amiss.
As far as checklists, many loans have them for the main loan doc package, but that still doesn't mean you don't wait for the final HUD to be faxed. Even with overnight docs I have had to wait for the fax of the HUD.

Glenn, you're right - prob rest of docs were on a website
This happens to me with a few SAs - they fax 10 to 30 pages of docs, and I'm supposed to go on a website to download and print the rest of the package. A few times, I've received the faxed docs but no email with the link and info needed to access the website and the online package. No loan would have just the comparatively few pages faxed, so if I did not get the email, I call and say "I got the fax, but where's the rest of the docs?"
