Is anybody a real estate transaction coordinator?

I got a call from one of my clients asking if I was interested in working for her. She said I will need to get some kind of training, but overall was kind of easy. I really don't know much about it. But I thought I might be a good idea. So I'm just asking

Congratulations....

.... you must be doing something right, mjv, to have been approached about the opportunity. I am not a TC but after reading your post I Googled and came up with some interesting information. In case you haven't seen this try: http://www.callclareity.com/2003-tc.cfm. I also appreciate you posting this in the event opportunities come up in my "neck of the woods". Good luck to you!

You're welcome

It's sounds like a good opportunity and something else to add to your resume. Think of all the contacts you'll make in the real estate business as well. If it fits in with your business plan or the goals you've set for yourself in 2007, I say go for it. You may have to sign a non-compete clause that could limit who else you do business with - that's something to consider. But sheesh...if they keep you busy then you won't need the other business!

Hi mjv, I employ several transaction assistants

I require that my transaction assistants are all certified REPAs (Real Estate Professional Assistant)s which is the California Association of Realtors certification program for real estate The program is put on at our local Assodiation fo Realtors and is a classroom program that covers the basics of real estate transactions. If you have further interest you may contact me and I'll give you the local Association contacts or you can checkit out on the CAR website under designations

www.car.org

My daughter completed the course right after her 16th birthday and has done very well, she is taking her RE license exam next week (she was 19 in July), she is in college and lover the work and makes great money. No, she does not work for me but at my suggestion at one of the best training brokerages in Laguna Hills/Mission Viejo. When she finishes their two year program she will be ready to join my commercial real estate/loan brokerage.
Good luck!

I owned a Transaction Coordination business in CA.

I much preferred being an EO. I was good at it though. It is not easy at all, believe me, once I sold out to a title company and let them take control it became a nightmare. They'd hire and I'd try to train, and you either get it or you don't. You have to be able to comprehend the RE purchase contract, the contingency dates, and be very detail oriented. I love paperwork, and deadlines. If you work for one realtor that you like, it's probably better than working for many as I did.
