Loan Closers License ( Minnesota) clarification

I received a call earlier this evening about the Loan Closers license that I was told I needed to do loan signings in Minnesota. I was originally told it was a title producers license, but was corrected that it is the Loan Closers License When I contacted the Minnesota State Commerce Dept., I was told that as a notary signing agent, we do not need the Loan Closers license. IREP's legal department is determining that anyone doing business for them in the state of Minnesota DOES need to have the license, therefore, they are requiring any NSA's in MN to get the license. This only affects MN nsa's doing business for IREP.

I talked with IREP last week. They asked me the same question. I told her it was not required in our state, but would comply if/when it became a requirement. She was fine with that.
